I would give them 10 stars if the page would let me. Great quality. Great value.  I cannot say enough good things about this company.  I picked them originally for a new roof, because they only quoted me the best materials at a lesser price than other local roofers who were quoting me cheaper material. They came today to check out a possible leak...3 years after install. They stand behind their work 100%. Helped me out above and beyond even though the leak was not a roofing issue. Corey in the office, Chris who came out to evaluate the problem, Sylvester and his associate who pulled it apart and put it back together... World class all the way! Jay’s Roofing has exceeded our expectations in every way. We did months of research to get the best price and a local company that was not part of a chain. In addition to having one of the best prices in town, they have been so kind, accommodating, hard-working, and quick. When our chimney showed unexpected signs of decay, the company was unable to put the flashing up because it was unsafe. It took us a long time to finally get the chimney removed, but Jay’s still came to finish the roof over the opening after its removal. We can’t recommend Jay’s enough for roofing in Asheville!

I’d like to share my experience in regards to Jays roofing which was opposite of William’s review (from 3 days ago).  They just came today to give us a metal roofing quote. They were supposed to come yesterday and when I called to confirm the appointment they notified me that the weather has put them behind, and promptly got me scheduled for this morning. We were very impressed with their knowledge and expertise and spent considerable amount of time discussing the type of product unlike other professionals who have come to us in a rush and knew little about their products.  We have not decided on using them yet for our project but  so far we are very impressed by them.

Agree with William.  Had an appointment for an estimate scheduled for today - no show - no call.  Rearranged my appointments to be available today - no call.  They said they would call in the morning to schedule a time so you have to leave your entire day open.  Not great for those who actually work; lost an entire day.  If Jays is too busy and can't make it, just call and say so.

Responding to the reply:  I was at my home all day with phone on hip.  I did not get a call and no one came by my home.  If you are sending someone to look at my roof - give me a call!  ...or come by.  Please give me a time - as that is what I thought you were going to do when I spoke to your representative earlier this week.

Update:  While I did not meet with a representative from Jay's roofing, they did prepare and send me an estimate.  The estimate covered most of the issues that I would have asked an estimator in person.  However, there are several items that I would have liked to discuss in person.  The estimate, given the work they said they would perform, was competitive.

Sir I’m sorry there must have been a mix up. My estimator did give you a call and he didn’t receive a call back. I did just get notice you tried calling the office later but didn’t respond to my estimators call. Bottom line though, we did call and did show up to measure your roof today. Again I apologize for your inconvenience but we were there and will send out your estimate tomorrow just like we said we would.

I got several estimates from other businesses that were outrageously high, and ended up hiring Jays Roofing because the cost was more reasonable, they worked with me on payment, and they took the time to explain all of the options available and answered my questions about warranties,  materials, pricing, etc. The quality of work was excellent and the team was professional and efficient. They even helped us move a large chicken coop across the yard when we needed extra muscle while they were working at the house, which obviously wasn’t even part of their job. They ended up having to replace wood with water damage under the roof, and they took the time to make sure the job was done right. I also appreciated that the communication was prompt, clear, and respectful. It’s a sadly common experience for women to have men condescend and mansplain their profession to us, and with this being my first experience as a homeowner hiring someone to replace a roof for me, I had lots of questions about the process. Everyone I spoke with was professional, helpful, and respectful, and never made me feel like I was wasting their time. Truthfully, I was not expecting that because the fragile male ego is so prevalent in male-dominated professions, and when people are busy and businesses are understaffed or overloaded, customer service can tend to go out the window. Being pleasantly surprised to be treated with respect and professionalism made this a positive experience for me more than anything else. I would definitely recommend Jays Roofing and hire them again in the future.

We first called Jay's Roofing in September 2019 to set up a replacement roof appointment. Chris, the estimator, came out when he said he would be there, and was very knowledgeable and extremely professional and answered all of my wife's questions. The estimate was very reasonable and we engaged their services. They were on site by 0800 the exact day they said they would be here. Horatio and his crew had the old roof off and new one on within 2 days. They cleaned up everything and once they left, you would never have known they were even on the property.  They did everything they promised, and my wife and I are thrilled with our new roof. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a quality roofing company.
