  We contracted with Crown Builders to replace our old Masonite siding with James Hardie Color Plus (factory painted) fiber cement siding. The Team managed by Kevin in conjunction with Foreman Frank did a fantastic job. While there were supply chain delays (pandemic times), once the materials showed up the team got immediately underway. If memory serves, they had our old siding off, evaluated/addressed any weather damage/rot, re-wrapped/taped the entire house, and had our new siding up within a week. By the time they had packed up and moved on to the next job, I would say that we were 99% pleased with the work. We had a couple of post install issues that we needed addressed. We reached out to Kevin and he sent Justin out to do the final touches. I'll list our top 3 touch up's below, but the most important thing to take away from this is that Justin didn't quit until we were satisfied with the results. This alone should tell you all you need to know about Crown Builders, they are professionals here to help you realize your home improvement vision and are not happy unless you are happy. One last thing I think you should know, regardless of who you contract with for whatever the job, is that you need to do your homework and ask lots of questions. It's important to have realistic expectations as to what "happy" will mean to you. Touch up #1 - Reframing and replacing some of the James Hardie trim over our bay window, as the original work, while effective, was not aesthetically pleasing. Touch up #2 - Unrealistic expectations regarding Color Plus - The planks come with a protective plastic barrier that we thought would ensure the factory finish, however, they easily blow off and the installation process has a chance to scuff or bare minimum leave construction dust on the product. Our color and flat finish also contributed to the visibility on the product. Regardless, Justin power washed and re-painted areas of concern. Touch up #3 - Some of the trim around the roofline exposes the backside of Hardie trim, which is grey in color. Most of the time it's not visible, but it is around corners and will need painting. RE: Photos - House was originally green masonite siding where nail pops had exposed siding to rain. Masonite had begun to absorb and bubble, thus the choice for new siding vs repair and paint.

  I was so impressed with Crown Builders from the very first contact I had with them. John was very friendly and knowledgeable. The estimate I received was about $15,000 less than a competitor for a siding project on my home. The installers were very polite, friendly, and hard working, They cleaned up after themselves daily. Andrew, the project manager, kept in contact with me throughout the process. I am so happy with how beautiful my home is now and I am so pleased with Crown Builders. Thank you!

  Examples of the work performed by Crown Builders. The General Manager,  Kevin Woods, lacked focus, delaying completion of exterior work for two months, replaces a broken window with another broken window, and has thus far not addressed the company's poor quality work. In response to this mess, Woods refer to his worker as having good skills.

We wanted to let you know how sorry we are that you went through a frustrating experience and are happy to report all issues have been resolved, and we were able to correct siding issues caused from another companies install. Once you let us know your replacement window experienced a stress crack after installation, we brought it to our window vendor’s attention right away and a replacement is on order and will be installed once it is delivered to us.
