I was happy with the entire experience, Tammie made it easy and handled it with a smile. She was courteous and relaxed, roof looks great and the clean up was very good as well. I reccomend them.

I would not recommend this roofing company to anyone and I will never use them again. Capital Roofing was contracted to replace my roof, install skylights, and replace my soffits at the same time. My shingle roof was replaced and skylights installed on September 26. The next day I went up to inspect it myself, and noticed that the flashing was not installed, air was blowing into my house around the skylights and the skylights were not centered between my roof joists, knee wall vents in the roof were not added like I was told they would be, adequate venting for my whole house fan was not installed and a telephone wire that was cut was left just hanging in front of my driveway in my alley. As of October 7th, still none of these issues had been remedied and I had been repeatedly asking the project manager, Dan Coleman, when these issues would be resolved and all I received in terms of action were multiple no-call no-shows. Finally on October 8, some of the flashing was installed, but they forgot to do my chimney and one of my dormers. I was told they would come back two days later but instead got yet another no-call no-show. On October 12, the metal roofing on my porch was scheduled to be installed but instead received another no-call no-show, and another one October 23. Instead of completing MY roof like they said, they started a new project on another house just half a block from mine! In this time they came back to "fix" the flashing on my chimney by putting a bunch of caulk in the inch-wide gap left where the flashing came together. It took them three attempts to make it so the skylights didn't let air in. Dan did have one of his guys try to square up the skylights from the inside to make the finishing work easier for us to do, but ultimately we had to use inches of shimming to get the drywall square. It wasn't until my multiple complaints that they finally fixed the chimney flashing and installed the metal roof on October 26. During the soffit removal, Denver EPA showed up and took a lead paint sample, and it came back positive, forcing Capital Roofing to stop work. I was told on September 16 that the remaining soffits would be removed within a week by a certified lead abatement crew. After countless no-call no-shows, on December 23rd we got so fed up that we just removed the final soffit ourselves (16 WEEKS AFTER I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE HANDLED BY CAPITAL ROOFING!) Dan did give us a $1000 credit for the soffit work since we had to remove it ourselves. After many requests to Dan for the actual calculations on how much venting the ridge vent provided for my whole house fan (not just anecdotal claims of "ridge vents provide great venting"), I did the research and the calculations myself. Surprise, I did not have adequate venting! It wasn't until then that they finally installed more ventilation so that my fan would run properly on January 28. Over this entire time I tried to call the office to speak to the owner of the company, and on every occasion the individual in the office would not let me speak to anyone higher up the management ladder. While ultimately all of the issues listed here did get resolved over a period of 4 months and two weeks (except for getting ventilation for my knee wall attic, that never happened) and done correctly, it was only because of my constant baby sitting. Dan did give us $1000 off since we had to remove the soffits ourselves, and then gave another $250 off for all the other issues. He told me that was the very best he could do. I don't feel like that covers it but I just wanted to be rid of them. If I hadn't gone and inspected my roof myself, water would be rotting my house out right now due to incorrectly installed flashing and lack of caulking; I would have frigid air blowing around my skylights; I would not have enough ventilation for my fan to operate correctly; and my soffit work would still not be completed. I worry about the work on other people's homes who are unable to get on a roof and check it out themselves.

Working with a new contractor is always a nerve racking proposition. From the first phone call Bear very quickly put my nerves at ease. Although our job was not the largest or most exciting, Bear treated us like we were the most important customer that he had. The job was done ahead of initial schedule and everyone we met were professional and personable. A great bunch of people and a great company.
