  Worse experience ever. Below some of the reasons: • The house ended up costing 70 thousand dollars more than the initial agreed amount. • The yard is a mess and I get continuous floods. The Landscaping companies that came to check it, 5 of them, explained that it was obvious Summit Contracting did not know anything about grading yards and what needs to be done. Be really careful if your lot has hills or is not a flat lot. • I had to spend more than 25 thousand dollars, just to regrade, put grass (something he promised and did not happened), and add pipelines for water drainage. • Derrick, one of the owners, told me I could choose a lot of things, but he did not let me do any change once he started working on the house. • Communication with him was really hard, it was clear to me that he was going to finich quick and move on to a different project. I contacted him a lot of times for help and he did just not respond. Trust me when I say, FIND A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR.

  Contract price on this home was 205,00.00 and the final bill was $234,959.00 which is a difference of $29,959.00 of which $23,500.00 for finishing the basement in the home which was not part of the original contract price. The remainder of the overage was for bedrock removal, whom anyone who has ever had a construction project knows is not included in the contract price because you never know if you are going to find any. Since you were out of funds at the end of you project as I recall you elected not to spend any money on retaining walls,sod, rip-rap, etc. to make your lot drainage or yard any better. Before you put a message on social media you should make sure you have your facts straight. Mr. Burger with Bloomfield landscape made several suggestions to you that needed to be done in order for the hill-side in your back yard to stop being a problem. Fact of the matter is you couldn't afford them. We built the house on your lot not ours. Furthermore, you forgot to mention that you only lived in the home for a couple short months prior to renting the home out. It is uncommon that the builder would be responsible for any lack of maintenance and upkeep on a home that you deiced to rent out. I apologize for your frustration but I think you bit off more budget than you could swallow and didn't have the funds to properly do your landscaping (which was not part of the contract) and that is the cause of your "flooding problem" not the home itself. There are other issues creating the flooding problem that are developer related not contractor related. A call to the City of Cape Girardeau would confirm this. The home is located on Copperfield Court. For anyone reading this rebuttal I would be interested to hear if Mr. Brillembourgh actually had any problems with the home that was constructed under our contract or if he is rather just trying to drag our name through the mud. We have been constructing homes since 2005 and have plenty of customers that would be happy to give you honest references. We as every other contractor of course make mistakes but stand by our work.
