  13 years ago, I hired this contractor after a hail storm damaged my roof. The owners son was overseeing the project and he was arrogant condescending and rude. .I asked about the fact that the shingles didn't extend a bit over the line to keep rain from backtracking up and under the shingles.. no, it's exactly how it's supposed to be. The rain will not come up under. Fast forward to today....the soffit had come loose, and a handyman tried to screw it back in to the rafters, but the wood is rotted. Called a well referred contractor. Found out the roof was .improperly installed, water did backtrack up and destroyed all the rafters and half of the decking on that side of my roof. The shingles were poor home dimprovement retail storequality not secured close enough to the edge and there was no protection there. . Every rafter on this side of the house will have to be rejoisted. New decking, New shingles.
