  We had Johnny finish a drywall ceiling patch where the hanging work had already been completed and the job was ready for finish mud. Johnny gave an estimate to finish the drywall to paint ready. His price was reasonable, with the amount of work left for the finishing process. I asked Johnny before he started if he would be using a light to ensure the finishing was ready for paint when he was done. He did not answer me straight. From drywall work experience, this is the best way to see if there are any imperfections that would show through paint for a less than professional job. When Johnny stated the work was complete, I shined my flashlight at differing angles and there were many imperfections I knew would show through paint and not look good. I stated they would show (and this was from experience) and he did not agree. He got upset that his work was being questioned/critiqued and stated he would come back in the morning to fix the issues. When he came back the next morning, he sanded for a short bit, still did not use a light we are aware of and felt the work by hand only for smoothness. Even though it was better, I knew it would not be good to mention more issues, considering his less than friendly attitude. I agreed it was ok (with all considered) and paid him what was quoted. After Johnny left, I spent time sanding using a light to level out his work to get a more professional finish for painting. This is exactly what I did not want to do when I hired Johnny. I despise drywall finishing. He also left sanding and finishing mess that had to be cleaned up, including globs of dried mud left on a dresser drop cloth from his mud pan. I am not sure if there was some misunderstanding, but some level of cleaning would have been helpful. He seemed to want get in and out faster than possible. I do think Johnny is capable of good finishing work to paint ready with the majority of the work we witnessed. If you choose to hire Johnny, be prepared to wrestle if you have high expectations and want a professional end result.

  After a kitchen remodel Johnny repaired the ceiling where part of the demo took place. He was on time, performed the work as described, and cleaned up after he was completed. He was very professional and seamlessly blending the textured ceiling.

  Johnny was amazing, very responsive and personable. He was kind enough to remove the damaged drywall and give me time to have someone come fix the leak in the roof before replacing it with new drywall. He cleaned his mess and worked very quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone needing drywall.
