After hurricane Irma sent a multi-ton oak branch through the roof piercing the ceiling of the master bedroom, I spent the next 5 hours until morning emptying buckets and ice chests as it rained in and the ceiling slowly collapsed. I contracted with House DR Development to make the repairs and they installed a tarp. The oak branch was cut off at the roof line leaving a large portion lodged in the attic. Two weeks later, the original tarp failed during another large evening rain storm and rain poured in. Texts and phone calls to House DR went unanswered, so I collected rain water and emptied buckets and ice chests until morning again. They apologized. House DR was provided about half of the insurance money on Oct 11th. By Oct 19, I’m asking them when the repairs will start and they don’t start until 7 weeks later on November 29th. I was promised a schedule of repairs, but never received one. There were promises I would have the bedroom back by Christmas. The hole in the ceiling was not patched until late December, so cold air continuously poured out of the attic and into the bedroom. You would have thought some kind barrier like plastic sheeting could have been setup to prevent this. I had to coordinate working from home on days where repairs were scheduled. There were constant delays with lame excuses or no communication. Final payment was made over 6 months after hurricane Irma. After thoroughly reviewing the final invoice, I communicated through their website in March and followed up with a letter to House Dr questioning certain itemized charges that were never done and charges that were greater than the actual cost of an item. The City of Jacksonville was gracious enough to return the roofing permit fee of $154.50, so I was concerned why the permit fee was exactly twice that amount meaning I was paying for the permit anyway. The “Notice of Commencement” permit required by the city was not completed prior to the job, but after. Finally, I personally feel that Google reviews should be reserved for ratings and comments from customers of a business and should not include 5 star comment-less reviews from employees of the company.

Well a customer of my son referred this company to us. I spoke to Leo and set up a time for them to come give estimates on our two roofs. We were informed they had to cancel the appointment on Friday and make it Monday due to an emergency. Understanding of the situation we had no problem waiting until today. When the time was up of a no-show for today we received a phone call with some more excuses and we're told they were sending someone out within the hour. That hour came and went and after moving on to our day after waiting received a phone call from Daryl and when we said we were not so sure that we wanted to proceed with them waiting for an apology or something ? he hung up on us. Very unprofessional!
