I recently purchased a DeGraff Bloom built home and I love it!! Such a nice design. It is a quality-built home that I am confident in. I know the builder takes the time to do things the right way. They don't cut corners. I am very picky and critical of workmanship and my home is great! No complaints here.

We built a home with DeGraff Bloom and have been very happy with the quality and workmanship. They were very easy to work with and paid attention to detail. I would recommend them if you are looking to build a home.

Degraff-Bloom builds such beautiful homes! The quality of their work is outstanding and easy to see when you walk into one of their homes.

First off the only reason I give this builder a one star is because you have to give At least one star in order to leave a review. This builder constructs nice looking homes but in reality they are of very poor quality. I moved into a Degraff and Bloom home 3 years ago and there are many things I have noticed that are off with this house. In some bedrooms where the out take vent is there’s just a vent cover but no actual venting. I noticed this while laying on the floor one day. I turned my head and looked into the vent and it was just wood and sheet rock. There was zero venting in the hole. It was a completely fake vent. Also I found a hole in the basement wall where the builder was going to put a drainage pipe of sorts but they decided to put the pipe somewhere else in the basement and left that other hole in the wall to let in water and mice into my basement. I have also found multiple rooms in the house where the walls are separating from each other and when they put the mud on the wall seams they never put the tape on the seams between pieces of sheet rock. Due to that I now have At least 3 rooms where the walls have cracked and separated from each other. The other most interesting thing I found was that 2 winters ago the side of my house started to bow outwards and every time there was wind I heard huge loud bangs on my house that sounded like a boat was flying into the side of my house. It turns out the 20 plus feet of wood board going from the foundation to the roof of the house was only secured by 6 nails. There are a lot of smaller issues as well. I can’t wait to find out over the coming years what other shoddy work that DeGraff & Bloom and their subcontractors did on my house.

We only gave one star because you cannot write a review without selecting one star. Windsor Oaks Colonie My Husband and I came to Dergraff Bloom to build our home in Windsor Oaks Colonie. 1 year and 3 months of our life wasted. DeGraff Bloom Builder commits an unethical act against the health and life safety Residential and IBC codes of the New York State building codes while building our house and ignores the engineers drawings to use full length 18 foot long pre-engineered 1.7E versa studs by Boise Cascade for the two story 18 feet tall wall for the living room on all three exterior walls. Degraff Bloom builders try’s to stack two separate 2 x 6 walls on top of each other which is against the NYS building codes and against the engineers drawings. This creates a hinge point at the second floor line which is structurally a miss. With the lateral forces of the roof and horizontal forces of the wind speeds, the hinge point at 9 feet off the finish floor that is now created will cause bowing of the exterior walls around all three walls of the living 18 foot tall space, this bowing will be created at the mid point of the wall as to there are no second floor joist for lateral stability because this is a double high space. The drawings he submitted to the Town of Colonie building department for his building permit he deviates from, not to mention the construction produced is structurally unsafe and gets caught doing it by the town of Colonie building department and the house is red tagged and a stop work order is put on the property for the house he is supposedly building for us. We are fortunate the Colonie building department caught this, as to the incorrect structural construction of our home could have been passed off to use by Degraff Bloom Builders. We sent emails and calls to Mark Johnson, but he avoids us and no returned emails and no returned phone calls from Mark Johnson or anyone else at DeGraff Bloom. The pre-engineered 18 foot long 1.7E versa studs that is listed in our house drawing plans that the structural engineer calls for and the drawings we signed off on and Degraff Bloom signed off on are a necessary structural element . Our real estate attorney sends a letter to Degraff Bloom builders asking for a meeting and when will they fix the life safety structural instability they created, Mark Johnson cancels our contract. Who does something like this?  We signed the contract with Mark Johnson February 2020 a year and 3 months ago before any increase in building materials and we waited patiently for over a year for DeGraff Bloom to start our house construction. We spent countless hours meeting with all the venders and selected all our items. Meanwhile, now the same house model IVY he is selling for $ 61,000 more and he will be selling our house to someone else for the increased cost but will have to remediate the structural issues he created for someone else and not us. We wasted 1 year and 3 months of our life, spent all that time selecting items from the vendors. We were exceptional clients and met all our goals in record time, this was quite challenging considering over the course of a year, there were countless E-mails that would go unanswered for weeks and even months. Once  we did receive a response it was only half answer and the same cycle started all over again. We also were double charged $800.00 on a change order for plumbing fixtures and were told to sign the change order, lucky we picked up on the double dipping of finances and requested the change order to be revised. Ask about their Red Tag Sales. Builder is unethical.  Buyer beware
