  Spent months to find our dream property but they took over 30 days to verify they property would work for the home. Then the property sold out from under us while waiting. We really wanted a custom home but the bulk of the properties we like are roughly 8k more per acre now. We lost other homes with nice acreage while waiting and looking for the ideal property. We moved on and purchased a home with 18 acres that is a little more expensive than what they could have built it for.
