  Alan's roofing gave us a bid 19,533 . I thought the bid was a little high for 2000 sq ft house, but we went with them anyway. Much to my surprise NO underlying material is included. So our total bill came came out to $21,349? I found out about the extra 2 grand when my bill was presented to me. Because of wood they needed to put in? Who thinks you can replace a roof without using any wood? Our Sales man did not even bother with looking in the crawl spaces to give our bid. Maybe our Salesman would of looked at the wood in our crawl spaces he could of given us a correct bid and we could of saved thousands by going with a reputable company who honor their bids. They also didn't clean my gutters of roofing stuff which caused damage by wrecking the gutters with the first rain. Thankfully Alan's did fix this problem. Bottom line.. Save yourself grief and money and go with another reputable contractor who honors their bids.

  We understand that no homeowner is happy with additional costs. However, your statement that we do not include underlying material is NOT correct. We are a reputable roofing contractor in business here for over 30 years and our practices are no different than any other roofing company. Sales representatives do not have x-ray vision to see the wood beneath shingles, nor would they have been able to discover all of the rotted or moldy wood on your roof even if they diligently went through your crawl space. The only way to identify such rotted/moldy wood is either during the actual re-roofing process or by destructive testing. It is against Florida Building Code to attach a new roof to rotted/moldy wood, so this is standard practice within the State of Florida to replace rotted/moldy wood once found. Many homes do not need additional wood or materials. Unfortunately, your home needed extensive wood replacement. Moreover, you read, reviewed, signed, and dated the contract documents which clearly set forth the costs of additional materials (should they be needed) in a line item form, and we even gave you a $300.00 allowance toward extra wood. While we understand that no one likes to incur additional costs, we stand behind the quality of our work and the expertise of our staff, from sales to installers.

  Just had a new roof installed by Alan's roofing co. We are so pleased with the work they did. The color is awesome and they went the extra mile. Per the inspector we hired for the Insurance co "they did more than what was required and they did a great job"!! Also, this is the 2nd roof we have had done by them. This new one was done because the HO Ins required it. Nothing wrong with it except its age, 21 years old and was still going strong! Also want to mention David Flowers. He was who we dealt with from beginning to end. Awesome guy, very professional yet friendly. Always available for any questions etc. I would recommend this company to EVERYONE!!

  Ok so I did not use Alan’s and I hope this is the company that did the roofing on the house behind ours on Ambassador St. I just want to commend the workers who worked until 7 pm the first day and then a couple of hours the 2nd day. They were very quiet and worked extremely hard. The job was done quickly and no neighbors were disturbed. Although our house is new, when we need a new roof, we are hoping Alan’s is around lol.
