Josh and his team at Window Depot were amazing! I called Josh about some possible storm damage and he was at our place working a couple days to check our windows out. Not only did he help us see that there was damage he explained the damage to us. He took the time to help us understand the needs. When it came time to install his team was fast and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves and helped make sure I had all my questions answered. I would absolutely recommend and use this group again!

Zeke did an excellent job of installing our new window. He worked in the cold and wind to make sure it was installed and sealed correctly. The entire process took less time than what we thought it would, but Zeke did not take shortcuts. He was professional, courteous, and friendly though the process. Matt did an amazing job with the installation of our windows. During the removal of the old windows and installation of the new, he would explain the process of what he was doing and why (our house was built in 1880). The new windows are a night and day difference compared to the old and they look fantastic!!

I have used Window Depot a few times to replace windows in my older home.  They do a beautiful job.  This last time I had them replace 7 windows.  Zeke and Doug were on time, were very friendly, helpful and professional, and they completed the job in one day.  The windows look amazing.  I immediately noticed the lack of drafts and the sound reduction.  I am very happy with my new windows and want to thank Zeke and Doug for a beautiful job.  I highly recommend Window Depot.

These guys were one of the first people to respond to me after the derecho. They replaced all my windows, siding, and a door. They always got back to me and they are very pleasant. The crews are very very nice as well. They even helped me out after the amazing December wind storm we had this year. I like shopping local and these guys are the real deal. Window Depot replaced our siding after the derecho in Cedar Rapids, IA.  They provided quality siding and expert installation.  Jaydon and Dallas were very considerate of our property and helpful with any questions we had.  The siding and installation really improved the overall look of our home.  We are very satisfied with the whole project.

Zeke and Doug installed my new windows and doors last week and they did an amazing job! I am so impressed with the quality of their work. They installed every window and door perfectly and even cleaned everything up before they left!

I had Matt B as our window installer. He was very professional and his attention to detail was top notch. One thing that that stood out was that Matt and the office did a great job communicating from selecting my windows all the way through the installation process. Window Depot has been wonderful to work with. They replaced our garage roof last April and helped with fixing it after the derecho. They are now putting up new siding on the house to replace the siding damaged during the derecho. They have been easy to work with and the entire staff has been more than helpful. This company is absolutely amazing! From the quality of the windows to the professionalism of the staff they deserve a five star all around!

It took several months for our windows to come in but they are SO worth the wait! Once they got them they came out and got them installed right away! The installation was very quick and easy! They helped educate us thru the entire process as this was our first time replacing any windows! The staff was awesome! Answering any and all of our questions! So helpful and kind!

We used to have MAJOR drafting with our old windows and our new ones dont have any! Its overwhelming to see and feel the difference our new windows make!

Our home was damaged in the derecho; roof, soffit, fascia, and some other items.  Our insurance initially didn't approve replacing almost anything.   We were having difficulty getting contractors to work with us because insurance hadn't approved larger repairs.  that was until Window Depot came and assessed our roof and other damage.  They worked with our insurance to get a lot more approved and gave us reasonable quotes for fixing all of it together.  we thought it would take a while to get the work completed as we only finalized in March.  The roof was fully replaced and all the soffit/fascia were installed already in April.  Everything looks better than it did before and would definitely use them again for roofing, siding, or windows  in the future

We had a great experience with Window Depot and Zeke when they replaced all of our windows.
Our new windows look and work great, we couldn’t be happier with the quality. We are very happy we went with the triple pane windows.  We’re looking forward to seeing the difference next winter with these windows as our old ones were very drafty.
The windows came in very quickly and were installed a month earlier than we expected.
The crew did a good job on the installation and clean up.

I have only the best things to say about Josh and the rest of his team. Our insurance company told us we did not have that much damage after a recent hail storm. We contacted Window Depot USA of Eastern Iowa, and Josh and his team responded very quickly. They came and performed their own assessment and found significant hail damage. They coordinated with our insurance company, and set an appointment for everyone to come back at the same time for an additional inspection. During this meeting, the insurance company ultimately agreed that the roof needed replaced, as well as a portion of the gutters. Josh was adamant about writing a fair quote and working with the insurance company to ensure we received quality shingles, felt, etc. When it came time to do the work, the crew was prompt, professional, friendly, and got it finished in one day! Josh and/or a foreman came back frequently during the day to check up on progress. If you need a new roof, I highly recommend Josh and his team. They made getting a new roof and dealing with the insurance company a breeze!

He did not put down the competition in any way.  This was refreshing as a competitor did put down the Window Depot which I found annoying.

We had all the windows (23) replaced in our home and are very pleased with the improvement. The old name brand windows were in terrible condition and don't hold a candle to the new ones from Window Depot. There is no outside noise, and the grids inside and tilting make cleaning so much easier! We had a couple issues that came up with the products during install, and they were taken care of very easily. Our installer, Ron, was wonderful! Josh was great to work with and cares about the customers. I hope to use them in the future to match our patio doors to our new windows.

Matt B was excellent to work with.   He was very knowledgeable and made sure everything came out looking great.   This is the second house we have used Window Depot for.   We highly recommend them.

Before I decided on some new windows from Windows Depot,  I did some internet research on what to look for and what to avoid when getting replacement windows. I also got a couple bids from other companies. I found Window Depot to have some of the best measurable window ratings, quality, and features available in replacement windows. All of this at a great value. Jeanne did a great job answering questions, while not being high pressured. Ron did a great job installing all the windows. So in the end picking Window Depot was an easy choice. Quality windows installed by local guys at a fair price. Would use them again for future window needs. Thanks guys!

Josh & the crew helped us out greatly when we came into a tight bind with water damage in our home originating from a damaged/failed deck door. We already had the measurements completed as our plan was to replace the door next spring, so when we contacted them, they were able to order the door quickly. Installation went smoothly and they worked non stop from start to finish. The team is knowledgeable, friendly and the door is solid and great quality. We are relieved to have the issues fixed and thrilled to have a new beautiful sliding door. No more drafts coming in! We look forward to working with them in the future to replace the remaining windows in our home!

Josh, you made it a point during your pitch that you'd be there for us. You have 1000% lived up to that promise. Though the work originally scheduled hasn't yet been completed, (due to the uh, inland hurricane) for anyone reading this, Josh himself was, and has been, in contact with us over the course of the last few months, making sure our insurance does their job. Heck folks, this man stood next to me as our insurance adjuster looked at our roof and siding. If I ever need anyone or any company to do anything for me in the future, it will be these guys. So very grateful and appreciative for your commitment and communication.

Windows took a month or two to come in which is expected with custom order windows over summer months.  Work was completed in a single day for 4 difficult to work with windows.  When I had an issue with a corner being loose they were back the same day I reported it to fix.  Were very attentive and pleasant to work and communicate with.  Prices were reasonable and product seems to be of much better quality than the builders grade windows they replaced.

This is a review for Window Depot and Josh Neuhaus, the person we worked with on this project.

We needed to replace the windows for our multi-family property.  We called a few local companies, and narrowed the decision down to two companies.  We eventually decided to go with Josh and Window Depot, and we ended up very happy with the decision.

Josh probably met with us 3-4 times before any work was done.  He patiently and professionally answered all our questions, brought window samples, explained the benefits and guarantees, etc.  We definitely appreciated this from Josh, since we were making a large investment to replace over 100 windows and we wanted to make certain that we were making the right decision.

Unfortunately, we had a fire at the property and had to replace one of the windows right away.  Josh suggested that he replace the window as a test to see how the finished window would look.  That was a very savvy suggestion, as we were pleased with how the window looked at completion.  After that, we decided to go with Josh and Window Depot.

By the time we were ready to move forward with installing the new windows, we were still at the tail end of winter (February).  We stayed in close contact with Josh, and had to change the installation timeframe.  We were able to compromise on a time, and thankfully the weather cooperated.  The truly great part was that Josh’s crews were able to complete the entire job in 1 week; we were expecting the installation to take 2 weeks.  For such a quick turnaround, the installation was done very well, and we were very happy with the final result.  The tenants were also very happy to see the new windows installed, and we received many compliments about the new windows and how quickly and professionally the windows were being installed.  There was no mess after the installation, and Josh’s crews hauled the old windows away.  No muss, no fuss.

So we undoubtedly would definitely recommend Josh and Window Depot in the future.  They did an excellent job at our property, and were very easy to work with.  We’d be remiss if we didn’t also mention Jeanne, the Operations Manager.  She was also very helpful and wonderful to work with throughout this process.  Overall a very professional, pleasant and cooperative experience that ended with an excellent product installed on our property.

Installer was incredible.  Don't know how Ron did such a great job and so fast!  Windows are nice, a little smaller viewing area than I expected but the attractive frames and handles made up for it. I would recommend Window Depot.

UPDATE 2/8/2019:  I am bumping my rating up based on the follow up on the issues below.  While my install was not the greatest experience, they did everything they could to make up for it afterward.  The business owner did reach out to me as well to help understand some of the concerns I had.

Original Review:

I had Window Depot install 3 double pane windows in my house about 3 months ago for about $1600.  My interaction with the office folks was fine, but I was not impressed with the installers.  A few issues that arose:
-They let my yard gate open and my dog ran off
-They left a bunch of sharp metal debris (screws, aluminum shavings) in my yard/flower bed
-Several marks were left on my walls
-One of the installers smelled like marijuana

A couple of other reasons for the low rating:
-I was told I would be sent a gift card due to my install issues and I never received this
-At least one of the window's has a bit of a poor fit with the lower pane/slider

I feel bad complaining about all this, but I really was not impressed with the service.  The sales staff (Zeke I think) was awesome however.

I am hoping to install a few more windows, but will plan to look elsewhere.

I want to thank you for your patronage of our company.  I sincerely apologize you felt you only had a 2 star experience.  Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction on every project.  Without honest feedback, such as you have provided, we cannot improve our company moving forward.  I know we have reached out a couple times to discuss some of the things experienced during the project as well as to gain some clarity so we can better serve our customers. I'd like to address each of the points you made in your review, just to make sure you understand our position, our perspective and our commitment to taking comments like yours very serious.
Everyone at Window Depot is an animal lover with pets of our own so we try to take extra care when animals are present.  We even ask homeowners at the time of contract signing to kennel or have someone available to watch animals that may escape through an open window or gate so we can avoid terrible situations such as this all together.  I know that our "Preparing Your Home For Install" document was signed by both Zeke and yourselves, but we should have been more diligent regardless.  I'm sorry this happened.
At Window Depot we pride ourselves on leaving our customers home in the same or better condition from when we arrived, including picking up all debris and nails as we don’t want anybody or any pets to step on or pick up nails with a tire or paw.  Regarding the marks on the wall, Jeanne our Operations Manager, offered to come fix whatever marks or damage was accidentally left behind by the installers during our final inspection phase.  It is my understanding a gift card was agreed to be adequate consideration for the damages, which our records show was mailed to the jobsite address on 10/1/2018.  I understand from your review the card never made it, so another was mailed on 11/13/2018 via certified mail and should be arriving shortly.
Another thing Window Depot takes very seriously is our Zero Tolerance policy for Substance Abuse.  This is something I wanted to speak directly with you regarding the experience with our installation crew.  We take great pride in providing a drug free environment for our staff and subcontractors.  I have addressed this issue internally with my entire staff and installation crews and can assure you we operate a drug free business at Window Depot.
Regarding the window not fitting securely, my understanding is Zeke was out to the property and examined the windows along with Chelsea and there was no further action or adjustments needed on windows.  If this is not the case, please let us know immediately and we will happily send a service tech or me to your property for another assessment.
Thank you again for your business.  I hope that perhaps you will change your mind, and allow us to serve you for our future window needs.  I'm confident we will do much better for you.

We just had a visit from Dustin Betzer, the delightful fellow that sold us our windows. He stopped by to confirm that we were happy with the purchase (WE ARE!)  The installer, Ron, was pretty cool too and didn't make me feel as anxious about someone being at my house as I usually do. We still need to have a picture window replaced, but that's completely our fault because we haven't decided what kind to get, yet. I will definitely be doing that business with Dustin because this whole situation is making me feel like he could actually turn out to be a lifelong friend.

We had all of our windows replaced last year.  We were so pleased with the service and products, when it came to have the house resided we called Jeanne McElroy. She and Josh Nehaus (the owner) came out to the house and gave us a quote to have siding, soffit, and fascia.  Installation started at he end of October and when great except for the late October snow which put a minor hiccup in the process.  The crew pushed thru and it looks great.  Several people have complimented on how great the house.  The best thing is the insulated siding has cut down on outside noise.  The house is so much more quiet.

On a side note he had torn down an old porch and awning before the install and the crew took all the metal and wood and disposed of of for us.   This kind of service seems to be the norm rather than the exception at Window Depot USA of Eastern Iowa.  Thanks again Josh, Jeanne, and crew.

I replaced a very large patio door last summer, and a kitchen window this spring with the triple pane door/window.  Zeke helped me out and install was fast both times (Ron did great by himself with the giant patio door).  I could already tell the difference last winter in the lack of cold air seeping in thru the new door.  If you need a new window/patio door, definitely give Window Depot a call.

Dustin was my sales man he was absolutely amazing. Never once did I feel taken advantage and I truly felt like he was there to help me improve my home and not just try to sell me something. He also knew that I didn’t need a long presentation to make my descion he told me the important things and kept it moving right along. He knew the audience he was selling too which made it easy to make the descion. The window was installed perfectly and I’m beyond happy with the results!

They did a fantastic job.  The installer took care during the installation and answered our questions.  Was a little worried that the windows would be a problem since my house is over 100 years old. They had no problem removing the old windows and making sure that they looked great from the outside as well as inside.

Dustin did a great job as our sales rep, not pushy but knowledgeable. Our installer Ron was the best to work with and we wouldn't have anyone else do our window installs!

We had 4 windows replaced and they are amazing.  The quality of windows used by Window Depot is top notch.  The installation was smooth and done in a very professional manner.  I would highly recommend this company.

They made buying windows and doors a smooth and easy process.  From spending several hours at my home while getting an estimate, to answering all of my questions, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  They installed everything on a Sunday, which was perfect.

I would definitely recommend them and will use them in the future.

Scheduling was very slow but the installer that was assigned to us once we were scheduled was very hard working,  polite and professional.   Our windows look great and Matt B did an outstanding job.

I got windows a few years ago.  Two windows came broken off the truck when they were  installing them.  I was told new ones were ordered and that as soon as they came in I would be getting a call.   I had to wait just over a year to get those taken care after calling over and over and sending pictures.  I've had child safety locks break, and now I've been waiting TWO years for two other windows to be replaced.  I was finally told in Dec. Of 2018 a year and a half later that one of them was approved to be replaced and that it was getting sent directly to me, I haven't received the window nor have I got any information on the second window that has the same issue.  The issues is that it won't stay in place when opening the window.

Unfortunately, there are two very significant challenges (both out of our control) that we are trying to work through, in order to help you.  First, this project was done under the watch of previous ownership in 2014.  Second, the windows that were installed in your home were manufactured by a company that has been dissolved.

I know we have explained these issues to you in the past, and can only hope that you see the effort that we are putting into finding parts and service items, and that you can appreciate the unfortunate time delay.  We have never ignored your requests, or failed to follow up.  The process just takes time.

I truly wish you would work with us directly, instead of leaving a poor rating of our company...as it gives no context to the situation, and is harmful to the extremely positive reputation we've built.  But I understand this is your right as a consumer.  We will respect that right, and continue to put forth the efforts necessary to get your situation resolved.

I hope that when we do get through this, that you will consider amending your rating of our company.

we had to have a one of our window panes replaced.  Installer Zeke was very professional and handled the replacement quickly and efficiently.  A very nice person.

Window Depot was a generous donor for my nonprofits silent auction two years in a row. Zeke and Josh were great to work with! Thanks so much for all you guys do!

Company said they would start work on our project November 2018, they just finished up in end of June 2019.  We had 11 windows.  They came to our house multiple times to work on it then had to leave early to go finish another project or they said they were coming to work on the windows and never showed up.  Or they said they would be there between 8am-9am to start working and decided to come around 11-12.  They never fully did a clean up of the backyard, we had left over screws every where.  Moral of the story we will probably never use them again.

After rescheduling once, they were late for a second appointment. When they finally arrived they were told that we would not be using their service. They said “okay” and left. If we cannot depend on them to be on time for the estimate how can we depend on them to get the windows replaced?

My mother paid $1,000 down for a window back in May. One man finally came out in July. He came into the house, said the window he brought was about an inch and a half too short. He said he would be back when he got the right window. We haven't heard anything since. Very irritated with the extremely poor customer service. This place has had $1,000 of my mom's money since May and have done nothing!

I've done some searching. If your mom is who I think she might be, we have her windows in and have them already on the schedule to call tomorrow for possible install next week.  As you said, the windows were measured incorrectly, by a crew that's no longer with Window Depot.  Unfortunately, we have been working to get through that crews projects as efficient as possible.  We are sorry and appreciate your understanding.

I would still like a conversation with you regarding this issue at your convenience.

Ordered windows last September 2019.  Didnt receive windows until March of 2020.  One window has a crack and the sliding screen door doesn't close.  Still waiting to get both replaced.  Terrible company to work with.

Some of the worst experiences I have ever had the salesman was nice Zac I think his name was then after that it was a nightmare the installer showed up by himself Ron then come to find out he put pocket windows in my house that should’ve been new construction the neighbors brought that to my attention when they asked why I switched with such a new house and was wondering if worked better the answer was no it leaked air and now water made me spend a lot of money on the interior trim that was in great shape before he touched it so I called the office to talk with someone the lady that answered the phone was the rudest meanest person I have ever talked to kept saying she was the boss and said I don’t have a clue what I’m talking about and wouldn’t let me talk to anyone else I think her name was gene or something

Overall I have been very happy with the quality of the windows and the service.  The employees are very polite and helpful.  The only thing I was not completely happy with was the lack of communication for long periods of time. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

I had about the same problems as that Jody lady had with her installation with my windows and doors they are so bad  and door won’t lock most of windows are ok but there is a couple that are terrible it was the same installer and office lady that jody had to deal with it sounds and don’t they have any other people there or just those two seem like good windows they just need nicer more organize office lady and better workers and more than a one man crew

After spending over $7,000.00 to replace all my upstairs windows, I was very dissappointed on the first cold weekend in October to have to put plastic on all of them to keep the cold air from coming in.  I have called them repeatedly to have this checked out only to be told they have other jobs to do and keep postponing to check out my problem.
