  I had my old deck replaced with Trex back in January. Virginia Deck Builders did a great job! The new deck looks amazing. Communication was great (one of the main reasons why I chose them), price was very competitive, and they were transparent with all costs. The crew worked hard and they finished in about 2 weeks despite snow and frigid weather. There were a couple minor issues that Nikolas responded to and resolved quickly. I would definitely recommend using them.

  We had Virginia Deck Builders add a new 12'x18' deck to our back yard that connects to an existing deck and screen porch. The work quality was excellent and was completed without delays. We were very happy with the entire process, from the initial selections and design rendering to the finished deck, including electrical and lighting features. They also took good care of coordinating the county review process.

  Proceed with caution. County contacted us months after project completion (deck). Turns out this contractor was apparently unlicensed at the time, so never pulled permits or had their work reviewed or approved by the County. And we were one of dozens of clients in this position. Months of hassle with lawyers and county followed. Never received a single apology, explanation or refund of costs paid. Turns out, our deck would have eventually. failed because it wasn't reinforced correctly. But for the county, would never have known. Finally fixed after months of stress and hassle. Hoping for the best now, but who knows.
