Why would a company come to your house, take measurements, give you a date, then not show up??!!

This guy maybe able to do good work but I would never know cause when we got a check in my name and his company's name we couldn't cash it because he has no business account or driver license. He had no proof that he owned a business called total home remodeling. He did have a passport though.
