  Took a while for me to get this review written, work on my home in Massapequa was completed November of 2021. It is a much deserved review and I am sorry it took so long to write it. Job was to add a portico, rip out old stoop and walkway and add enlarged ones, replace all windows and front door, interior trim around windows and door, replace all siding & gutters, add a border course of brick around the driveway, stone veneer added to stoop and sections of the house walls, bluestone on stoop and parts of walkway. After pricing out several contractors last year I decided on Tim White Home Improvements. Price was competitive with others and they responded quickly. During quotation, another contractor had told me they could start work very quickly even though the architect would be required to submit plans to the town for approval and permits. When I informed Tim one of the concerns I had was his later start time Tim flat out told me Nassau county would take at least 3 months for approval and that the other contractor was telling me what I wanted to hear as opposed to reality; NOTE, I did not mention the other contractors name to Tim as that would be unfair. Well, sure enough, after I approved the design plans from the architect it took about 3 months to get the permits. Thanks Tim for being honest. Tim assigned a project manager, Tom, to our project. He was responsive throughout the project duration of approximately 2 months. The dates he provided for each team of tradesmen needed to get the work done was with in a week of actuality. When there were delays they were explained to me in detail. Biggest issue was the long lead time for the Pella windows and that is not the responsibility of the contractor. All sub-contractors used were professional and of excellent quality. The stone work was especially well done. Early in the process I made a decision not to widen the walkway but the manager of the stone laying company contacted me to advise I should widen it. Sure enough the finished product showed they were correct and the additional charge was managed well and was very reasonable. In fact Tom, the project manager, had found some of the job came in a little under the quote and summarily provided a credit. Both my wife and I are happy with the quality of work and the professionalism of this contractor.

  Contacted this contractor to do an extension. The owner, Mr. White came to my property, we reviewed the plans, and went over the additional details not shown in the architectural drawings. He informed me he was busy but would get back to me in two weeks with a pricing for the project. After a few weeks passed without a response, I emailed him directly and spoke to his secretary regarding my project. It has been over a month and a half and I have still not received a response. Despite being recommended from individuals, I unfortunately cannot recommend this outfit due to their inability to communicate.

  Dan, we apologize about the delay with your estimate. Due to these unprecedented times and with the holidays, there has been longer wait times with hearing back from our vendors. Half of our office staff has been out with COVID-19, including Mr. White himself. We apologize that his secretary did not inform you, please let us know if you like to still receive your estimate.

  We recently had a bathroom renovation as well as the installation of a new laundry room floor. Tim provided a timely estimate and we did not feel any pressure to start the job. Sam helped me with the design and selection of all materials. She was great and gave me a lot of time and attention. The crew was professional, efficient, very neat and provided high quality workmanship. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Tim White and staff.
