  This company was contracted and paid a tremendous amount of money to renovate my friends bathroom in order to accommodate for her child who lives with a disability. Once they were finished and paid, 3 days later the living room ceiling began to noticeably leak to the point you can see the outline of water when you’re sitting in the living room. It has gotten so bad that no one feels safe to sit in the living room in the event the ceiling decides to cave in. Everyday, I could see the problem becoming worst. The contractors claimed leaking came from a shower flood ! A shower flood! The set up of the renovation does not have a tub to hold water in and cause a “flood” the water escapes through the “one” drainage they installed. This started in July, but the shower continues to leak every time it’s ran ! It’s now October ! So, the flooring is far from waterproof ! The family was told that the initial renovation would take 10 days which ended up being a month of work because the contractors would not show up for a week sometimes and when the family tried confirming a set schedule with the contractors they did not give a time frame as to when they would arrive but text back “We will be over there in a couple of hours to get everything finished up”. This company has poor time management & worked on their own time with no consideration to the family’s personal needs to shower daily. The leaking started 3 days after the contractors claimed to have successfully finish the project. The way this incident has been handled has been unprofessional and unethical on behalf of Taylor Builders of Eastern Carolina ! It’s heartbreaking to see my friend and her family going through this and being unable to enjoy their new home.

  Hi Ms. Wilson, we're sorry to hear about your concern as a friend of a homeowner. We would love to explain in further detail as we did with the homeowners... Above and beyond building code, when we installed their shower we used an engineered shower pan which directs water into the shower drain. We also waterproofed the entire shower with a 2nd coat of waterproofer on the shower pan itself. We were sure to pressure test the shower drain and water test the shower pan with 100% success and no leaks after 3 separate trials. After installing the tile, we waterproofed the entire bathroom floor and walls to ensure no leaks and no compromise to the integrity of the bathroom structure. After the homeowner installed the shower curtain themselves, we received a call that there was a leak and we promptly inspected the bathroom on premise and completed an additional water test for 10 minutes with 100% success and no leaks. The homeowner indicated to our contractor that the shower had been utilized by her 3 children simultaneously without adult supervision and flooded the bathroom with water flowing into the hallway. The problem was in fact due to the shower curtain being 3" too short and was not installed correctly (outside of the shower space). We are more than willing to remedy this situation with a functional shower curtain installed by one of our contractors to ensure efficacy. We also spoke extensively with your friend's coordinator about this issue and verified that in fact it was not the fault of the work completed.   I have had several jobs done by Taylor Builders and I highly recommend their company. They replaced my roof, did fence work, tile work, all sorts of jobs. Wesley Taylor does his best to make sure everything is done the right way.

  Taylor builders does quality work and they stand by what they do! They were much less expensive than other contractors we contacted. Taylor builders will get my business again!
