BEWARE! I received a quotation on their letterhead with a signature from the local representative in Alpine, Texas. I hired them based on the quotation. They missed about 10 start dates. They finally made it to our house and remove the old roof. Once it was removed the owner of the company called and raised my quotation by $6000 saying that the quotation I had on a letterhead wasn’t legitimate. After having the roof removed for over a month they finally installed the roof that I paid more than I originally agreed because I couldn’t find another roofer and had to get a new roof on before we had interior damage. They threw in gutters to make up for their error. Unfortunately the gutters didn’t work per the first large rain storm post-installation. I have been waiting for them to come back for four months to finish the carport. They are sweet as pie but not trustworthy or reliable. I have all of the documentation to back this up.

With thousands of jobs completed, we like to feel we have a fool proof, step-by-step procedure we follow with every customer... However, this time we failed the customer service test. It is clear there was a flaw in our "well-oiled machine". This is unacceptable. We would not accept this behavior as a customer, and we would never expect a customer of ours to silently accept this poor service either. Upon reading your review, we immediately began an internal investigation and discovered the source of where things went wrong. Steps have been taken, and the cause of this situation has been rectified We sincerely hope our follow up communications and actions solve your concern, and we hope you find our ending level of service to be that of which you should have received from the beginning.

One star because there is nothing lower. I waited three weeks to see if anyone would contact me about the roof. No one did. I sent several emails to the Alpine office the clerk there named Jen. No response except for the bill which they told me was due on receipt. Lets go back to the beginning, Jimmy Tallent is the person listed as the salesman, he showed up one time and asked to climb up on the roof to measure for materials. He did this, and when he came down I asked if he could give me a ballpark figure for a metal roof. He replied 12k to 13k I expected that, so I was no too surprised. The actual cost was over 19k. You would expect someone who does this for a living to be closer to the cost not 50% off. Next instead of calling to set a date to replace the roof, a foreman showed up at my house, remeasured the roof and stated the materials would be in , in approximately two weeks. They came back and stated the materials were in and they would like to begin work the next day. This was very inconvienient because my wife was going in for surgery. They said I did not need to be there for them to start. Next problem, the workmen blocked the street in front of my house for four days with trucks and trailers. Everyone showed up in a different vehicle each day. Hard on my neighbors and me. I had to park down the street. When they finished, everyone disappeared, no one checked with me to see if I was happy with the work. Jimmy never returned. I received a customer satisfaction sheet with the invoice, which I did not sign or send back. They work done sheet was incorrect and indicated work that was not done. Jimmy assured me earlier that they would deal with the insurance company and be sure to get the maximum allowable for the work. No one from Tallent ever contacted the insurance company. I checked the work on the roof an found that the vent pipes had not been replaced, and the turbine vents had be damaged and would not turn. Like everyone else, the only way I had to check on the company was to go online and read the reviews, They were very misleading . I will not be going back to them and I will not recommend them. Many of my friends passed by the house and commented on the roof. They asked me about the cost and the company, most got more of a negative report than they wanted. Be careful of this company. The only good thing I can say about them is that we have experienced marble size hail and heavy rains since the completion of the roof. It did not leak. Check other companies before you pick this one. Oh and one last thing, no one is ever in the office in Alpine, I could never get an answer on the telephone or when i went by the office in person. VERY DISSATISFIED. Tallent Roofing Did respond to my post. I received several follow up phone calls and two workmen did show up to rectify the problems I had noted on the roof. They painted the vent stacks and the air ducts. When everything was completed, the job looked like it should have when completed the first time. It looked professional. I can't say I am totally satisfied or happy with the way things went, but I am much happier now than I Was before Josh Called.

Tallent Roofing was very responsive and had my new roof and gutters installed very quickly. They also worked great with my insurance and help in explaining how the insurance payments worked.
