I had contracted Summit Building and Roofing for a complete roof replacement. Here is my (in detail) experience. The inspection appointment went well, Josh came in and recognized the problem. I chose to replace my whole roof with new shingles and repairs to my gutters. After some time I had to follow up with him and he said Tuesday there were to drop off the inventory and parts (shingles, etc) and Wednesday install. Unfortunately he didn't mention times during the day things would be dropped off or when the install crew would come. On the day before Tuesday I emailed when the the shingles would be dropped off at my property. He replied the next morning that a third party supplier does the drop off and doesn't have a number for them. So I waited all day for the delivery. At 3pm, my Ring security camera detects a heavy duty forklift roll into my car port and drop off the items without a word or warning. I wasn't notified of a successful delivery either, and had to tell Josh myself that the shingles arrived. The next morning comes and I am at work, getting ready to clock out for the day. I was never informed of a specific time the installation crew would come, so I assumed it would be about 8 or 9 am when the sun is out and most contractors are in work. At exactly 7, multiple trucks roll into my property without a courtesy call/warning and began tearing roof apart. Me and my fiancee anxiously watched as work was being done without us being home. They had accessed my backyard too They didn't bother to ring the door bell to inform us they are working! So imagine if I was a normal customer who had kids/work life, being woken up to loud hammer impacts and drills. Very unacceptable. I have had many contractors set times when they would arrive and begin their work. So a couple of hours pass, and the owner (Jason) of the company stops by and checks out his employees and I. I told him of the incident and how uncomfortable I was with the lack of communication. He apologized and informed me that he came back from vacation and wasn't full filled in the detail of the project being done in my house. He also mentioned that a "Nathaniel" should've emailed me about speific times and dates of the when project items were to be delivered and installation to begin. I had no such emails. I later got a phone call from a lady from Summit Building and Roofing's office, informing me that I had my roof being replaced today. I told her that the crew is already there and are working. I also informed her of my concerns with their impromptu arrival. She said a "Nathaniel" should've contacted me a few days ago letting me know of when their workers are to begin the project. She told me his number and I looked back at my call history.... no such attempts happened. My conversation with the lady made me feel like I "should've known" people would show up at 7 in the morning, despite a large lack of communication. So five or so hours pass, the crew replaces the roof at around 1230-1pm, and Josh (sales inspector) rings my doorbell to inform me that the crew are finishing up. I did a walk around with him to ensure all issues with my roof were addressed. I watched as all the workers leaf blowing debris and picking up any trash on grass. Overall, it appears they did a good job installing new shingles and fixing gutters, so no issues there. (See photo attached) Once all the employees left, I've noticed a few things the crew left behind, so messaged Josh to see if someone would pick up the stuff, and he said "he'll check on it and pick it up." (See photo attached) it was to rain in the evening so I threw some of items away and put the others in outdoor storage. Then I noticed my shoe had something metal on it. There was a roofing nail embedded on the side. So I had to search for any nails left behind. I was planning to give a higher score in my review but thinking back at the experience as a whole, it was stressful and disappointing. The roof seems to be good, but customer experience can be improved.

Summit did a major renovation, replacing the siding, trim, and gutters on my 3200sf home. Because of the current market, it took a while to get the supplies in, but they told us that upfront and they constantly under promised and over delivered! The quality of the work was really really good. The crew was very detailed oriented and Jamie, who was our sales rep/project manager was very responsive to all our questions and concerns. They accidently broke a piece off of our outdoor hose. I called and they sent someone over right away to repair it. The clean up was very thorough. I truly can't say enough about how much I enjoyed working with this company! It was a big and costly project and we are happy we went with Summit!
