  We had a small fire in our home recently thank thankfully did not cause extensive damage but enough damage that the smoke and soot were everywhere in the house. The house smelled like smoke and walls, ceilings, floors and furniture had a dark film. I found a local Servpro in DeKalb and called them right away. We quickly had a full crew of folks at our house ready to work. Celeste and her team immediately set up several air cleaning machines and began scrubbing the walls and ceilings. By the time the work was finished, every surface in the house had been cleaned: Doors, baseboards, furniture, ceiling fans--everything. We were instructed that although the visible evidence had been removed, some of the smoke could still be present in the drywall. A separate crew came the next day and started to seal the walls and ceiling and then re-painted all areas. We have not smelled any smoke since. In addition, since we were not familiar with the process of working with the insurance company, we were grateful that Lisa in the office actually handled everything with our adjuster and instructed us on how to finish the process.   My family returned from a weekend away to find our kitchen floor saturated with water. Apparently the ice maker line ruptured at some point while we were done. The water had also leaked down into our basement and soaked our carpet and bottom part of our drywall. We called Servpro right away. A technician responded within 5 minutes and Kurt and his crew arrived a short time later. They went into action right away and removed all the water from both floors. They then removed and discarded the wet pad and carpet and cut out the wet drywall and insulation. Mike, Vince and Enoc then installed several fans all over the area to start the drying process. Frequent visits after ward had them monitoring the moisture content until they determined that it was dry and safe. They saved us from much worse damage. Shortly after that, the rebuild crew and came to start the process of rebuilding our home back to they way it was before the flood. Both crews were professional, courteous, timely and immaculate.   My business had their carpets cleaned by ServPro over Christmas break. We were very satisfied with the workmanship and professionalism of the crew. They worked for an entire week scrubbing and deodorizing our carpets. They made thirty year old carpet look clean and smell fresh again. Thanks for the great work! We appreciate it.
