Please note: December 17, the seller we purchased our home from paid for a new composition roof for our house, completed by Scoggins Roofing on December 2. January 16, we attempted to fix the leak that was coming through our roof, into our kitchen, through our microwave vent. We called Scoggins Roofing, who put our roof on. We were informed that it was not related to the roof that was replaced and that it would be an additional charge, which we agreed to. ($125) February 10, we reported that we still had a leak, that was coming through our microwave, after a strong rain with wind. February 11, Bob came by again and fixed it again. He was very pleasant. We asked him if we just pay him or mail a check. He told us wait until we have another strong wind and rain before we pay, to make sure it worked and we wouldn’t need to purchase anything else. At the end of March, we had another strong rain. Our microwave short-circuited. We were forced to buy another one. ($360) We could not tell if the water was still leaking through, as there had not been much wind with the last rain. We thought that might matter. To be honest, we figured that Scoggins Roofing would give us a call and make sure the leak had been completely fixed, and ask for payment at that time. No one ever did. At which point, we would have paid the balance in full because it did appear the leak was gone, despite a strong wind and rain not occurring again since the previous time. With everything going on, it was not our top priority to take care of it. We assumed the roofing company was being understanding, to ensure the problem was indeed fixed. We later received a past due letter in early April saying we had neglected to pay our bill. I was very unhappy with the way we were treated during our final conversation. I know times are tough, but that is no reason to make your customers feel like they are liars or trying to “pull one over on a business”. We paid our invoice via mail on April 10. Miscommunication takes TWO parties. Due to the rude and uncalled for way we were treated, I would not recommend this roofing company to anyone.
