  Dang. Its not fair that google doesnt let you rate a zero. Can you say contractor fraud? Scott Dalil the owner of S and J contracting will take your money and not deliver. Don't be tempted to take the lowest bidder. Which he will be. But only because you wont get what you think your paying for so it costs him less. He took our money, promised a start date that went at least a month over. He let us hang. Doesn't return phone calls. Lies so much I think he believes what he' saying. Once he and his crew came, the crew did the real work while he stayed on the ground to try and pick up roofing nails. Which again he failed to deliver...we are still picking them up in the driveway. Now why would I say contractor fraud? Because we once had a vented roof. What he took payment for was a new vented roof. Instead he replaced a nonleaking vented roof with a leaking moisture ridden one without a vent. We have had to many frustrating phone calls to him and numerous appointments scheduled with him planning to return, but again another day goes by with him being a no show. Yep weather was great today too. Sadly enough his ignorance causes decent contractors for another job in our house to wait. His comment of why would we believe contractors that are just starting out over him, when he's been in business for decades... Well, Scott if you did a little research you'd know that a roof that was vented should again be vented for two reasons. One your customer paid you. Second, when your customer calls you and says you forgot to vent it and now moisture is showing through the ceiling. It needs to breathe, moisture collects then mold will grow. We punched a hole in the ceiling and found so much moisture from the heat trapped. We got the photos needed of the wet insulation. My true rating is zero, buy google gave you the one star so I could post this. So this is going to end with calls to the BBB and the NY state attorney generals office, our homeowners insurance and a little research on his other business practices. Then we will hire someone else to do the job with the hopes of billing Scott. So folks that low bid Scott gave you isn't so low in the end. DO NOT HIRE S and J CONTRACTING!!!!! 👎👎👎👎👎

  Have been trying to get them to finish chimney work for 4 months. They will not give estimate of when they will get to it, and they will not call me back. DO NOT PAY complete bill until you are completely satisfied. Would not recommend them.

  Great work!! They came and redid my second floor laundry room after it had overflowed. Reasonable prices and the work they did was great quality and exactly what I wanted. They showed up a little later than what they had said a couple of times but other than that I would go to S&J for all of my needs!!!
