  I will never again make a reservation at red roof Inn, Longview Texas. I made a reservation for 2 rooms here that morning because me and my family would be coming into Longview that night to meet. We live over 10 hours from each other, so we drove 5 hours each to Longview for the weekend. When I made the reservation I told them we would not be in until 10 to 11 pm. The woman told me she would hold my card for the reservation and nothing would be charged until I arrived at the hotel. When I got there, the front desk told me they gave the rooms away because the person who took the reservation DID NOT take a phone number and my card declined. I told the woman, that when I reserved the room, I was told no charge until I arrived at the hotel, therefore I turned OFF transactions on my credit card which I do constantly as a safety measure. If the lady would have told me, they would charge it before I arrived, I would have ensured it was turned ON. So how is it my fault, that someone at the front desk doesn't know how to do their job and take a phone number down? She took down my E-mail though. Maybe, the front desk should tell their guests EXACTLY how they operate so this doesn't happen again. I had to call EVERY hotel in Longview just to find 2 rooms at 11 pm at night with an 8 year and my elderly parents. Hampton Inn suites was literally a God send for us. They were the most AMAZING hotel, rooms, and staff I've ever encountered. Therefore Hampton Inn is out hotel for Longview Texas.

  Nice staff, clean rooms, king size beds, the shower has good pressure and the price is very reasonable
