  I was referred to this Builder by Terry's plumbing, a business in Astoria who had done some good work for me by locating some underground utilities near my lots. They recommended the Builder and said he was "reliable," so I contacted him. The Builder was very friendly and said he was interested in building a bungalow for me--but then I never heard back. As of this writing, it is a contractors' market, with plenty of work for them, and so the kind of behavior I refer to here is unfortunately widespread. How easy it would be for builders to just say "no," I can't do the job for this reason or that. It would be the professional and respectful thing to do.
