Staffing Quality Control Issues We hired Pro-Long to clean the roof, remove debris from roof/gutters, and apply a moss treatment. I worked from home the day of the service. The junior tech arrived on time at 8:30 AM and started the job. Happened to step outside to hear him swearing profusely a few hours into the job. After lunch, a supervisor stopped by and was giving him tips (and I learned he had only been doing this for a few months). At 3 PM, the tech left without notice. Walking around the house, it was clear the job was unfinished as there was still moss on the roof, debris in the gutters and the moss treatment had not been applied. That evening, I emailed Pro-Long the details of the day along with several pictures of poor workmanship. The following day, the manger of Pro-Long called to apologize, made excuses for the junior tech, and stated the following week the job will be completed. He also acknowledged that if I hadn’t complained, they would’ve thought the job had completed. The following Monday, a senior tech and assistant arrived at 9 AM to begin the job – again -- and completed around 3:30 PM. This time the job was correctly performed and no complaints. Several days later, the bill arrived via email. When I inquired about a discount for the issues and hassle, they eventually sent a new bill with a $25 discount, which is insulting. Eventually spoke to the manager on the phone again was unwilling to budge stating this had cost them more than expected already and his staff need to be paid fair wages. The bill included links to multiple social media sites if one was ‘delighted’, so here we are as a heads up for other customers.

Mr. Bell, We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the service we provided. It is correct that the tech was new and had some difficulties dealing with the details of the job. However, a tech does not become experienced until he works the difficult jobs and learns how to become better. We did send out another tech to complete the job and make sure that everything was completed to your satisfaction, which you assured us at that time it was. When we invoiced you for the completed job, you requested a total of $462.06 off your $924.12 bill. At that time we informed you that asking for 50% of your invoice to be removed was not something we felt was a reasonable request considering the minor issues that took place and how we corrected them as soon as possible at additional cost to the company that we accepted without question as it was our responsibility. You are also correct that we feel strongly that our staff should be paid fairly and not be punished for being new. The cussing was definitely not acceptable though, and the tech was reprimanded for that behavior.

The company provided an on sight review of our roof and gutter cleaing needs and discussed options. On the same day we received by email a detailed estimate. I responded by suggesting some changes, which were accepted an a new estimate was provided. The work was done when promised. We have a rubber roof that had special cleaning needs. In addition our gutters also required special cleaning. The job was completed as promised and we were were quite satisfied.

Responsive, friendly, knowledgeable. Adjusted quote to beat out competitors. Was on par with 3 other quotes for the same job. Roof work is expensive, no way to avoid it. They installed gutter guards for me as well. Good product.
