Just had roof, skylights, fascia, soffits, and gutters done by Palmer. I can't say enough nice things about them. Communication was excellent: I always knew where they were going to be, what they were going to do, and how much it cost. Before construction we got detailed maps and photos. They did the work quickly and cleaned up thoroughly. I couldn't be more pleased.

Our new house had terrible ice dams and interior water leaks last February in the cathedral roof section. The owner Andy Palmer personally came out to our home and worked with us to determine the best solution within our budget. We consulted several other companies and none of them made as much effort to help solve our specific problem. We can't comment on their workmanship yet because we're waiting for warmer weather for the project to start, but so far I'm very happy with Palmer Construction.

Typical contractor: talks a great game but won’t fix their mistakes. See the pictures. Is this how a brand new $5000 door should look after 18 months? The touch-up paint clearly doesn’t match and was only needed because of their careless workmanship when they touched up the trim and got white paint on the factory painted green door. The peeling white paint is also their fault. The installer insisted that the seam at the threshold didn’t need caulking (I asked him why he wasn’t doing it) because that is not real wood (it isn’t), but the water wicked up behind the paint anyway and caused the peeling. The door was manufactured by Therma-tru, who confirmed that caulking this area is in their specs. It gets better. Therma-tru doesn’t manufacture the door frame. Palmer quoted us a door assembled by Seal-Rite. But, Palmer turned around and used Lumbermen’s (who won’t return my calls), which I had to find out from Seal-Rite. Either way, we paid Palmer for a door and this is what we got, and after countless calls to Palmer, Therma-tru, Seal-Rite and Lumbermen’s, still have. Not acceptable in my opinion. And the thing is, these aren't monumental mistakes - they're easy fixes. They just won't!
