  Summary: Northshore exteriors listened to us and gave us just what we needed and wanted, instead of being greedy and trying to sell us more. Work was done in a timely manner, reasonably priced, excellent quality, by an experienced team with excellent google reviews, a courteous foreman answered all my questions, they covered fragile areas below the roof with plywood and tarps to protect windows, doors, and bushes, they cleaned up everything at the end of the job and hauled it away, leaving only their footprints in the snow. They are a hard working, honest bunch and I highly recommend them! Details: When we purchased our home, a large section of the roof had been redone and had shingles about 6-7 years old on it. The S and W sides of the roof had shingles about 16 yrs. old, and those shingles had more wear on them from increased exposure to the wind and sun. Since we were getting solar panels in the Spring, we wanted to have the weathered shingles replaced in order to avoid the possibility of needing to replace them after the solar panels were installed. Also, the job needed to be completed in March, preferably within the first half of the month, in time for the solar installation. We called 6 roofers, all of whom visited us, looked over the roof, and gave us estimates. We chose Northshore for several reasons: - Customer centric. They listened to us and gave us what we needed. Several roofers insisted on re-shingling the entire roof at more than double the cost, even though half the roof had relatively new shingles. They told us the manufacturer's warranty of the shingles would be invalid unless we had the entire roof done. Northshore ext. gave us a contract for just what we wanted and needed, and also provided the full manufacturers warranty on the shingles. - Timely. hey were able to commit to getting the job done within the first 2 weeks of March (and actually finished the job before the end of the first week). Most other roofers would not or could not make such a commitment. - Google reviews were excellent. - Affordable. They were very price competitive. Some of the other roofers wanted as much as $3,000 more for the job, citing factors of material shortages due to the pandemic, or hazard pay for working in winter or on a 3 story building. - They were local to Traverse City and had an experienced team to perform quality work. I had actually asked Google for "Roofers near me", and among others, it listed a business down by Grand Rapids. I wanted a roofer who was going to use their own experienced team to do the work, and not farm the job out to sub-contractors on the cheap. If anything were to go wrong with the installation, I wanted a roofer nearby to respond quickly, and with whom I could easily meet with, if needed. So a long distance company was not of interest. These fellows did a great job for us! Highly recommend them.

  I needed a quick repair due to some wind damage which tore off a few of my shingles. Jacob and Taylor did a great job of getting things patched up for me. Jacob was very responsive to my questions. They arrived on time and were professional and friendly (even made sure to give my dog a few quick back scratches which he much appreciated!). :)
