  Contrasted with the other reviews written here, I had a good experience with Nilles Builders. They built a back deck for me which I am very satisfied with. It took a bit longer than originally estimated but there were some permitting issues so it's not entirely their fault. I would use them again.

  Nilles is an unprofessional company, particularly in dealing with post-completion projects. Previous reviews on Nilles indicating 'no one answers the phone' is accurate and consistent with our experience. Our expansion completed in Sept 2012, with a replacement of 12+ Jeldwen life-time warranty windows & a patio door. Early July this year, we wanted Jeldwen to come out to fix our patio door, so we called Jeldwen directly. They could not locate our door; they needed the purchase order or invoice number from the purchaser. So we contacted Nilles, and after 4 phone messages, two emails and 2+ weeks later, Nilles did come back with a copy of the PO number for the door. And with that number, Jeldwen was able to locate the door and immediately arranged an appointment for a technician to visit. We then asked Nilles to provide us the PO numbers for the windows, in case we run into similar problems in the far future. After several more requesting emails and additional 3 weeks later, Nilles came back and declined our request. In response Nilles stated, "Retrieving various receipts now is problematic and time-consuming for us", and "Your request for these receipts is unprecedented in the construction industry". We feel we are longer Nilles' customers, and we are 'screwed' just because we did not ask for those information while we were their 'customer'. In our opinion, Nilles may show their care and support to potential customers initially, but will turn their back on their customers, likely after they get their last check. Again our request to Nilles was a list of invoice numbers for our windows/patio door that Nilles had purchased and installed. Nilles gave us information on the patio door, but refused to give the list of the 15 windows. In our opinion this simple request should not pose any issue to Nilles in getting the list, and it is ridiculous for a company to stall for 3 weeks to come up with a denied response to their customer. The practice is unprofessional and unacceptable. This review is just for a simple request of the list of windows and door that Nilles purchased and installed in our house. I have not yet written a review on their quality and professionalism with the overall expansion project. For now, take this simple request example and ask yourself if you would want such company to work on your house project.
