BEWARE! COMPANY CARES ABOUT MONEY ONLY! Nationwide is trying to collect a cancellation fee (20 % of estimate) from me without ever providing an estimate or a property inspection report. I contacted Nationwide Roofing to give me an estimate for home roof repair after Hurricane Sally in Pensacola, FL. On 09/24/2020, Steven Contreras arrived on behalf of Nationwide Roofing. Steven explained that his company will replace the roof and handle all my interior repairs too. He provided me a hold harmless agreement and explained it to me. He told me that he will provide a estimate for the damage and get back to me. I explained that my insurance company sent an adjuster out who began writing an estimate for me already, Steven took his information. Steven later explained that I would need to pay him the insurance deductible and that he would waive $1000.00 if I were to review the company after the work was completed. The issue for me was my Insurance company told me they were going to take my deductible off the total amount of my claim before they issue a check to me or a contractor. Steven had sent me a text message saying the company was "doing it at the insurance cost currently they are paying 9.1k for roof and 9.1k for flat roof." Steven and I agreed to cancel. Steven told me he would schedule a time on the following Monday to set up a time to go over the "cancellation agreement." I heard nothing from Nationwide or Steven after that. I receive a letter from Nationwide via certified mail that claims I owe them a cancellation fee of 20% of the estimate. It further explained that I owe $3836.25 for the roof portion. I do not feel that this is fair based on the fact, I never received a written estimate from Nationwide and the fact that Steven failed to show up on to go over a cancellation agreement. I received a call from Steven Contreas (Service Rep). He explained I was on the hook for the cancellation fee. He told me that when he would have met with me for the cancellation it would have been "basically" the same amount. He then told me that if I gave his company a chance, he would be able to work with me on the fee. After going back and forth for a few hours, he told me that the company Office Manager in Pensacola (unknown name) will settle for $2000.00 in 30 days. I asked to speak with Steven's Manager, Isidro Cunningham. Steven told me he would not give me his number; however, he would call him on my behalf. Steven hung up and called me back a few moments later telling me that Cunningham told him that he had nothing to say to me and that the company is cutting me a break on the roof cancellation as the amount was $8,000.00 before. If my math was correct, 20 percent at $8,000.00 would be a total cost of $40,000.00 for a roof. I advised Steven I would contact a lawyer in reference this and fight this. Steven told me that Ill end up paying for a lawyer, so I might as well pay the fee and be done with it. I told Steven paying for a lawyer would at least be a service I paid for. Steven further explained that the company was a multi-million dollar company and that the lawyers they hire will beat me. He told me to pay the fee in 30 days. Steven told me that the 30 days is coming up implying that I need to pay. A good friend of mine used Nationwide for his roof and has been having issues himself with the company and Steven. Nationwide told my friend that Steven was terminated last week. If Steven was terminated why is he reaching out to me trying to collect money? I replied to Steven that I did not want to have any further correspondence with him as I have been waiting patiently for the owner to reply back to this BBB claim. After speaking with a claimed owner of the company. I am not satisfied with the outcome at all. I talked with Tim who claimed to be an owner, he would not budge on a $2,000.00 cancellation fee after he agreed that Steven was in the wrong. While speaking with Tim, he told me to get a better paying job.

I was very happy, Jose Delgado he was very helpful. Our insurance was trying to low ball us, and they worked and got things settled. Jose always returned calls on time. Jose got with the insurance company and was able to get the insurance company to pay for the full roof replacement. Love the roof very nice work. I never had someone work so hard to get things settled. I would highly recommend Jose for his patience kindness. He is very professional. I would highly recomomend him

He's doing the same thing to my elderly and desperate parents it's all as the same as Joe Tachetta's review with the only difference nationwide of Pensacola's representative got a lawyer involved to sue insurance company and put in a bid of $124,000. Promising just about a brand new house. Now I'm talking with an attorney to further understand how bad this situation is!!! LIKE JOE SAID "BEWARE"!!!
