Quoted 12 sheets of R panel and trim. I decided to order it several days later. I was told no problem we keep it in stock. I arrived and placed my order expecting to load up and go but was told they would need to cut the R panel to the lengths I ordered. I was told it would take 45 min to get it ready. I ended up waiting 2.5 hrs for the material to be ready. I couldn't leave because I was an hour from home. Nobody would give me a time of completion and they kept working in other customers. My business will be going to Mueller metals from now on.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience here at Metal Mart. It is always useful for us to hear from our customs so that we can improve our service levels. We understand that no one likes to wait. While our posted lead time for non-preorders is 24 hours, we are often able to fill them much more quickly. Additionally, we do try to keep as many different items on hand to fill those orders. It should be noted that as we are open to the public each weekday, materials which are available when a customer calls on one day may not still be available at a later time. We generally recommend that our customers order the materials when checking availability. Once the order is placed and the deposit received, we can immediately pull those materials and prepare them for loading. This ensures that the materials are guaranteed available for the customer and are ready for loading when the customer arrives. We apologize if we did not make it clear during your phone call that these are our recommended procedures. In case where a customer chooses not to order when checking availability, we will endeavor to fill their order as quickly as possible. However, in some cases the material originally inquired about may have been sold in the meantime and we may have to cut other materials to fit the order or make a special order from our manufacturing facilities. In either scenario that can involve a wait time of a few hours or up to a week in the case of particularly large orders. As you will recall on the day you were here we were being visited by a high volume of customers, some who had pre-ordered materials and others, like yourself, who had not. In such cases is quite difficult to give reliable wait times, particularly as we greet the continual flow of customers which visit us on such occasions. Once again we are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us and thank you for your input.

Order from them. Told would be in two weeks later. Called in two weeks was told was on back order. Never got a call saying that my order was on back order. The weeks out still no metal. Will never order from again. Terrible communication and customer service.

The current shortage of steel, coupled with extremely high demand for building products of all types and a shortage of trucks to ship materials has unfortunately led to major delays and long wait times across the industry. As a retail supplier we, and our customers, are frequently experiencing delays in the production and delivery of materials. These delays are beyond our control and often the shortages are originating from mills and coating companies which have been unable to meet all of the demand being placed on them. We regret that you did not enjoy your experience with Metal Mart and we will take you comments into consideration as we continue to work through these extraordinary conditions.

Extremely disappointed in the service and how everything is being handled. We ordered a metal kit building from here, which will be our home for the next 30 years once its built. We got all of the walls up and were excited to finally get the roof on. Low and behold the metal for the roof is about a foot too short. we called and explained what was going on and instead of replacing the metal, they want to just give us a larger ridge cap for the top even after they told us this was a KNOWN problem that happened after they updated their systems. We paid a lot of money for this kit and we expect everything to be exactly as we ordered it. Like I said this will be our home one day and trying to cut corners to save them money on their screw up is not okay. We are not accepting the larger ridge cap, because that is not what we ordered and we are still trying to deal with Metal Mart to get what we want. We shouldn't have to go through this much trouble to get WHAT WE ORDERED. This is just ridiculous and poor business. I don't recommend. UPDATE: We did finally receive the panels that were the length we originally ordered. Even though the panels were finally replaced. We were still required to load up the old panels and drive them back up there ourselves to get our replacement panels. In my eyes this was very inconvenient because we did not have the proper equipment to transport the metal to begin with and then we had to make a second trip just to get the right sized panels which could have been avoided had everything been done right to begin with. Not only did we have to wait on the shipment for the correct panels, we also had to waste more of our time making arrangements to make the exchange. Yes, we got the correct panels, but I am still disappointed in how everything was handled.

As we discussed the problem with you at the time, the use of a larger cap in the event of a panel shortage is a very common solution. We discussed the solution with your contractor, who agreed that such a solution might fix the problem. However, as you indicated that you found such a solution to be unacceptable we did agree to replace your roof panels. We understand that the time it took to arrange that replacement was frustrating for you and we apologize for any dissatisfaction this caused you. Additionally, we hope that the replacement panels which you have picked up will fully resolve the problem. We are also very gratified that you chose to purchase additional products after this problem occurred and thank you for the opportunity to continue to serve your needs.
