  My mom lives in The Villages and pretty much on a very fixed income. She needed the roof completely re-shingled. The prices she was getting quoted were way beyond what she could afford since the insurance was not paying anything. When her neighbors realized she was redoing her roof, they recommended this company, McGinnis Builders. They were nice enough to send me the contract to look at. We decided to use them and definitely not the kind of pricing she had been getting. Their price was terrific, they were on time, very professional workers and friendly. They got the job done in just a few hours. They cleaned up everything around the house. Did not leave one nail on the property. I would seriously recommend them. I live in Orlando so unfortunately, when we need a new roof, I'm out of their area, otherwise it would be a no-brainer to use them. They did not take payment until the job was done!

  One star for showing up on time and one for passing the "inspection" which consisted of the county man taking a quick walk around the house. -1 star for every pair of shoes I own having nail holes in them. -1 for the owner's son/foreman being totally disinterested in even speaking/listening to me during the job and -1 big one for breaking my water pipe, turning the water off to my house, and not telling me. Seriously, what a fiasco of a day. The garage had obvious wood rot that anyone could have seen when they did the estimate. I didn't get a chance to show him because, instead of calling on his way, like I asked, he called from the driveway and I missed him. They did show up almost on time. When the son showed up later, he wouldn't have even spoken to me if I hadn't gone over and talked to him. They unloaded materials and no wood for the garage and left. I called the office and told them we needed wood for the garage. They showed up again without it. I went over and told the son, "come over and look at the garage, we need wood.". He got in his truck and left. He came back with no wood again and left. I pulled one of the workers off the roof and made him look at the garage. He got on the phone, told them we needed wood and then some 2x4s showed up. At the end of the day I had just paid and went inside to my wife standing at the sink with soap on her hands asking why we didn't have any water. I went out and asked why no water. They didn't have any idea. A little investigation and found that they had broken the pipe off at my water softener and just shut off the flow without mentioning it. These are far from the only aggravations but some of the major ones. If you are desperate for a roofing company to show up like I was, they will be there. If you don't have knowledge of construction to watch them and fix your own broken water pipe....

  They did a great job on our roof. We were given addresses so we could see finished work and select the perfect shingles to match our home. The job was done in one day with minimal disruption. They also did my sisters home, her neighbors and will be doing several of our neighbors in a few weeks. We saved thousands over the quotes given by roofers who are coming around trying to get your insurance company to pay. We highly recommend them.
