  My wife and I originally selected Ken to help us design the changes to our new home we were purchasing, and ended up sticking with him as our general contractor for construction as well. Our initial impression of Ken was that he was young, but also was very experienced and passionate about his work. We fully renovated the main and upper floors of our house, completely changing the floor plans of each. Ken was excellent in listening to our vision while also contributing original ideas to help us reach our goals. He listens attentively, knows what presents well, and always factors in the opportunity cost of decisions throughout the process to provide workable solutions. Once we completed the design plans, we solicited bids for the construction project. Ken’s proposal was the most competitive of the four we received and we were glad we were able to stay with him throughout the entire process. He was exceptional as our contractor. Our experiences, interactions with, and results from the work of Ken and his team has been nothing but positive. The construction work was done on-time and on-budget, despite us asking for Ken’s help with certain tasks that were out of scope. Ken was always happy to help at no additional cost. Throughout the project, we received compliments from our neighbors about how polite and considerate the foreman and crew were. We are extremely grateful for the good work Ken did for us in our new home and would recommend him to anyone for their next home design or construction project.

  My husband and I worked with Ken of Koncept Design + Build on the total renovation of our home in the summer of 2012. Ken was on top of every aspect of the design and execution of our large project. Ken is an extremely talented designer and we could not have asked for anyone better to work with. He took the time to really listen to us and understand our goals and as a result, his designs reflected our vision and ideas perfectly. He helped us understand our options and limitations, expertly explaining the pro’s and con’s of different alternatives. Although he was working on several large scale projects at the time, Ken was always extremely responsive and made us feel as if we were his only clients from beginning to end. I have and do recommend Ken to all our friends and can’t wait to buy another house just to work with him again! We were very fortunate to have had our renovation in such good hands.

  From beginning to end, our whole experience with Ken and his team was amazing. Our project included a dirt excavation of a basement crawl space and complete renovation of the room to add a new bath and laundry area. Ken’s vision, experience, and eye for design helped us create this space to meet all of our functional requirements while looking sharp. He even gave us some great additional suggestions for the space that we hadn’t considered that ended up making all the difference at project’s end. Our project began on schedule and finished slightly later than anticipating because of a hold up with city permits and a few other elements that had been discussed with us before work began. Ken’s crew were consummate professionals, and always maintained a tidy workspace. Ken was always accessible and communicative, available to explain work progress, any issues, or answer questions whenever we needed him. Ken also helped us stay firmly within our budget, even while incorporating a few changes and new requests throughout the project. We are exceedingly pleased with our new basement and are still impressed with the overall craftsmanship and attention to detail shown throughout the project. We could truly tell that Ken is a passionate craftsman who loves what he does throughout our entire experience with Koncept Design + Build. We recommend Ken to anyone for their next home project and absolutely plan on working with him again when it comes time to remodel our kitchen!
