  We met Mr. Paul Yoder he is the owner of Highland Building Materials in Mio Michigan when we were looking at homes in The Villa's in Frederic Michigan. We also met Doug Van-Y owner of Blackstone construction from West Branch Michigan. Doug is the contractor for Mr.Yoder's subdivision. We met with them both several times. We talked about the things we wanted in our home. The first sign of trouble was the windows. When we went to see the house I ask Doug about when I was going to pick out the stuff for our home. He said I already ordered the windows in white. If I wouldn't have Mr.Yoder would not have them there when needed . OK???? The next thing was the roof. We went to see the house and we sat in the road watching them slam frozen shingles on the roof to break them apart. Ok???? The next thing was the insulation. We drove to the house all the walls had paperback insulation. Joe from the beginning said he wanted spray foam insulation in the walls. They both knew it! Ok...now what . You are probably thinking what is wrong with these people. We really wanted the house. So we kept going. The last straw was the drywall. It was the worst drywall job we have ever seen. Ever!!! When we told Doug how bad it was he said the guy will fix it after you buy the house. He only wants to come back once with the trade guys putting in stuff will ding the walls anyways. We then ask Doug would you want this drywall job in your home? He said NO way. There are many many more things I could tell about the building of this home but this is enough. For us that was it!! We called Mr. Yoder and took everything I had to prove our point. It was either let us out of the contract or go to court. He did let us out and paid us our money. It took me months to write this because we are Christians ✝️. I had to make sure I was writing this for the right reason. I don't want anyone to go through what we did. And that is the reason it was important for me to write this.

  Jr took care of me for a new roof. Had everything on paper, figured out and a delivery date in 15min. Top notch.
