  Existing and potential Hickman Metal Roofing customers - a demand letter may be the only way to get Hickman to meet its contractual obligations to you. They are not returning phone calls or voice messages, and are showing no sign that they will meet their commitments without legal pressure. Hickman Metal Roofing installed our metal roof less than 10 years ago, and it is still under warranty. There is one section of the roof that we've had to have repaired several times. They said damage was caused by a tree branch near the house. However, we had the branch in question removed, and the same section started leaking again. We've been trying to contact them for more than 10 days. We've had 2 no-shows on appointments they set with us to evaluate and address the damage, and they have not answered our voicemails or written messages. Heavy rains are expected soon, so their failure to call us back or keep their appointments may result in much more extensive damage.

  We used Hickman roofing thinking that they were a reputable roofing company. We learned quickly that is not necessarily true. They replaced our roof with aluminium roofing and they told us that they stood behind their work. NOT TRUE!! We had numerous issues with our roof. We called them and they didn't call back. We eventually talked to the son and he had a very bad attitude and acted belligerent. They sent someone to evaluate my roof and the rep that they sent was very critical of the poor workmanship their company had performed. They sent a crew to try to fix the problem but unfortunately we are having leaking problems all over the house. We had to pay someone to fix Hickman's roofing poor workmanship. DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Since I am not able to respond back to Mr. Hickman's response, I had to add to my original review this comment: When we talked to his sales person, he stated that they had extra materials from another job and the materials were already at their warehouse. We did try to back off from the contract after a few days. We had a change of heart and we wanted to replace our roof with a regular roof instead of an aluminum roof, but Mr. Hickman threaten us with taking us to court. If Mr. Hickman had a good product, the warranty should had lasted for more than 5 years. We did removed the tree limbs. As far as his "phone log" is concerned, I had to call him many times. His son dealt with me and he was unethical. Mr. Hickman can respond with excuses, but that is all they are, excuses.

  Roof was completed on 10-20-2005 after many delays and home owner wanting to cancel contract after materials were received and permit was issued. The workmanship warranty was 5 years and expired 10-20-2010. On 8-5-2016 as a gesture of good will, I sent a crew to do a repair at NO COST to the home owner. Home owner has been advised numerous times to remove tree debris buildup from the roof as it may cause damage if left there for long periods. I keep detailed phone logs for customer complaints and find NO record of any calls. The workmanship warranty expired nearly 11 years ago.

  Back in 2014 this company did a brand new roof for us. There is a 10 yr warranty for it and now it is leaking. I have been calling and leaving messages and they NEVER return them. All I am asking is for them to take a look and fix it. The never closed the permit with the city as well. DO NOT use this company. They will not call you back or fix their mistakes. Horrible service.

  Ms. O'Connell, Your name is not in my database or job files. Please contact my office for more information. Spoke to Ms. O'Connell on 7-22-21 after two prior attempts to contact her failed. After being informed by Ms. O'Connell this was not her roof but someone she represents I found the job file. The roof was completed in July 2014. The workmanship warranty was 5 years expiring more than two years ago. As a gesture of good faith I sent a foreman on June 4, 2021 to look at the complaint area. There is an old metal roof that attaches to the roof I did. The old metal is rotted (it was in a similar condition in 2014) and unrepairable. This area was specifically excluded from any warranty that Hickman Metal Roofing offered. Home owner requested and was given an estimate to replace the old metal roof and it was declined. As to the complaint that the permit was never closed, City of Gainesville issued a Certificate of Occupancy on July 31, 2014 to officially close out permit. I have no proof that Ms. O'Connell is authorized to negotiated on behalf of the owner. When I notified Ms. O'Connell of this she hung up the phone on me.
