  Renee and I have been shopping for Marvin windows. Salesman, Darrell Janis has been very helpful. Fischer Lumber has some very nice working window displays. Darrell provided us with three Marvin books that explain the three grades. I grew up in East Alton. Fischer Lumber has always provided us with quality products. I've always found them to be very honest and helpful. Windows by Marvin, bathroom cabinets by Birtch are never cheap. You get what you pay for. Fischer orders the products we want - they have always cooperated by warehousing items until they can be installed. I've ordered several panels of sheetrock and they delivered them within 1 and 1/2 hours. Yep! Saves me time - I'd rather do business with a local company that truly appreciates my business.

  Will not even waste my time going anywhere else, have dealt with them for years for many small projects.. I'm not a professional, just a DIY'er but they always treat you like you are their biggest account.. very knowledgeable, offer advice when asked and never cop an attitude. Prices are very competitive if not better than most box stores and MUCH better product - I will happily pay more for the service and quality materials plus the bonus of not spending hours in a store searching for a straight piece of lumber - keep up the good work and folks, SHOP LOCAL!

  My first time coming here...they were recommended to me by an orange big box store. Really friendly people. I only needed a couple pieces of lumber this time, but I'll definitely come back with any future needs. I'm a local handyman, so it won't be long before I need something else.
