  First Choice Siding replaced our roof in July 2020. Recently, I went up into the attic and discovered mold, mildew, and moisture on joists and insulation. I called Keith Watson (of First Choice Siding) and informed him of the issue. He came out to look at it and stated the reason was insufficient ventilation in the attic. For a second opinion I called another roofing contractor and told him what was happening and he agreed with Keith, this was a ventilation issue. However, my discussion with him revealed that Keith had not installed the roof properly, it did not meet Indiana code requirements. Keith had installed the roof exactly as it was before, by our instruction, but did not inform us it did not meet code. Keith agreed to “take care of it,” but at our expense. After a heated discussion, Keith agreed to install ventilation to code requirements and he would “eat it.” Three texts later, Keith gave me the question, “How am I supposed to know the code requirements,” and he informed me that he would NOT install the repair at his expense. A separate text gave me a $656 estimate to do the repairs. Consumers, do NOT hire this contractor! Keith doesn’t know Indiana code, nor do the roofers that did the job. He goes back on his words and will charge you to do any rework due to his negligence. Definitely beware of this company!!
