  We hired Dahl House construction to build a 8 by 14 foot mud room addition onto our existing house. Andy (owner) worked with us on an estimate which proved to be very accurate. The job entailed demolition of an existing covered porch, excavation of a crawl space, block foundation with cement floor, framing, exterior siding, stonework, roofing, electrical, insulation, drywall, and tile work. We did the finish trim and painting. Andy's crew is extremely hard working and knowledgeable in several of the trades including blockwork, flatwork, tilework, rough construction, exterior finishing, finish trim, and others. Even though we took on the trim task, they worked with us to understand our final trim plan to ensure the proper framing was in place. For the other trades, we used Andy's network of high quality craftspeople and were very happy with all of them. These included: rough electrical, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, insulation, and stonework. Everyone was timely and we were never held up by any one trade. Andy's team is also adaptable as we changed a few things along the way. Instead of just a crawl space we have a basement area we can stand up in. This was recommended to us as one of the footing walls needed to be very deep due to the terrian. That whole space needed to be excavated anyway to accommodate that deep footing, so the overall cost to extend the height of the crawl space was minimalized. A great suggestion as we use it for very easy to access storage. Another great suggestion was the use of trusses. We only needed six of them, but by using them, it was very easy to get a bonus storage space in the attic of the addition. We were very pleased with the work and care to do things right. We would highly recommend Dahl House Construction for anything from simply footwork (sidewalks) to completely new construction and anything in between.
