Before the derecho Cutter Construction built a roof extension over our deck.  They did a quality job and we are enjoying it.  Yesterday, my husband called Mike to see if he could get the color name of the vinyl siding they used as a small piece blew off the front of the house.  Cutter Construction had not installed this but Mike told my husband he'd get on it.  By the end of the day the piece was back on the house.  Cutter Construction does quality work, shows up when they say the will, and goes beyond the norm to satisfy a customer.  Thanks Mike.

Mike and his crew our fantastic to work with. We went through multiple design iterations and Mike was able to provide detailed pricing very fast for each option. Mike was great about coming to our site and helping us through the selection process for colors, lights, railing, etc. There were some circumstances out of his control during the build and he handled it very professionally and transparent. He was quick to call us with information as opposed to having to be chased for updates unlike other contractors. Minor coordination items with his crew were quickly resolved and we are truly impressed with the quality of work his team did. We sincerely valued working with Cutter Construction and would recommend to anyone who wants a top quality product.

Cutter Construction installed a new deck for us.  The deck kept the original deck footprint, but installed new Trek decking.  We put in a two-tone deck with a diagonal design.  The Cutter Crew took great pride in their work.  They measured and made sure everything was perfect in the design we wanted.  We were so impressed because they would make sure everything was level before installing the final screw.  The Crew cleaned up every night before leaving the work-sight.  Mike was great to deal with throughout the entire process.  If you are looking for a company who does quality work, then you have found them.  We would use them again!

The Cutter Construction team is the best contractor I have ever worked with. We had major water issues related to an old deck that was improperly installed and a foundation issue related to a walk-out basement. This was a complicated job, and Mike and his team were the only team in town that would take on the challenge! They are honest, direct, professional, courteous, and hard working. Mike and his team are easy to talk to, and they are committed to solving any and all problems they encounter with transparency and skill. All the work they do is fantastic: masonry, concrete, decking (a FANTASTIC Trex installer), framing, you name it! They are dedicated to their work and making the homeowner feel valued and listened to. They don't "mansplain" either. Hire this team, you won't regret it.

Cutter Construction installed a Trex deck on our existing structure.  They also designed and installed a new set of stairs in a different location.  We were very impressed with the attention to detail during the build/quote process, Mike was very willing to take time to keep returning to the drawing board to adapt the quote until we got what we wanted.  The on site crew was great, very personable and respectful of our home.  All companies get good reviews when things go well, our project encountered a couple of issues, and Mike was very easy to deal with and reasonable in coming to a resolution, that is impressive. Cutter construction, what can I say, we have used Cutter for 8 years for new roofing , new driveway built a garage and cedar screened porch ,they went out of there way to roof my folks house after derecho so we could sell the house the same year, they worked on my son's house for siding and gutters before winter sets in . We have more jobs lined up in the near future also , Mike and Bryan are wonderful to work with, would highly recommend Cutter construction!

Went with Cutter Construction even though their bid was a little higher. Bryan did a lot of leg work with the city to make sure we were compliant with city zoning. Great work. Great communication. Nice guys.

Mike finished a bedroom and bathroom in our basement.  He was great to work with.  All the contractors that came to our house were always friendly and cleaned up after themselves.  The workmanship from all was perfect.  I will hire them again if I need anything done.

Cutter did a great job replacing our concrete driveway. They kept us informed when there were delays in their schedule (due to weather, not over-promising). They responded quickly to any of our phone calls, they honored their original quote, they worked hard (in some VERY hot weather) & they were as careful as possible with our yard and garage. I hired Cutter construction for a total demo/rebuild of my detached garage after the derecho. I cannot begin to describe all the ways they excelled in this project. They worked with me every step of the way to ensure I was 100% happy with the final product. The Cutter brothers personally take calls regarding your project, discuss any issues you might have, suggest solutions, and ensure it gets done right. Cutter construction makes you feel like your project is the most important thing they are working on.

I made several changes to the project during construction, yet the Cutter team was willing to accommodate those changes, and always had someone out to my house WITHIN 1-2 DAYS to discuss or even just complete those changes. Every member of their team I interacted with, down to individual laborers working on my garage, was courteous, reasonable, and clearly interested in providing a high quality of service.

The high quality of service is obviously enabled by the hard work of the Cutter brothers and it seems their whole team has a dedication to delivering a high quality project. I can't imagine using another contractor for a project like this after the service they provided for me on this garage

Bryan Cutter

We are extremely happy with the concrete and brick work that Cutter completed for us. They were very accommodating when we had to postpone our service from the fall to spring due to house damage from a storm in the fall. They held to their quote, and they are hard workers. They even made sure they didn't damage a new garage floor surface when replacing the driveway. These are good people who do good work for a fair price.

Added a 3 season porch and smaller deck onto the back of my house. They had it framed up in no time, and the roof blended into the existing seamlessly. After a delay in getting windows from the manufacturer,  and the weather, they finished it up quite nice. We had the house resided to blend in the new addition. No sooner than it was complete, and the hail storm broke a piece of the new siding.  Mike's crew fixed it right away. Granted,  it took longer than anticipated,  but we are completely happy with the quality of work. His crew was very responsive to any issue I had during the entire build, and afterwards.  I  highly recommend Cutter Construction for your next project.

We hired Cutter Construction to tear out and replace our driveway and sidewalk. They were able to get us in much earlier than expected and completed the job within a week. We have a very steep driveway and Bryan and Zach did everything they could including discussing different options with the city to make it more manageable for us to get up in the winter. We are extremely happy with the end result and thought the guys were all very professional and affordable.

If I could give Cutter Construction 1 million stars out of one million, I would.  They are the absolute best.  Mike and Bryan are beyond words amazing to work with.  Our garage was totaled in the derecho from a neighbor's tree.  After talking on the phone with Bryan, and meeting with Mike, there was no doubt that they were who we needed to do this job.  Honest, caring, compassionate, they listen to you.  I never lost one night of sleep worrying about them getting the job done and doing it exceptionally well.  Their workers are also beyond amazing.  So very kind.  The subcontractors they hire, like roofers, etc....also a mirror of Cutter Construction.  Everyone is very hard working.  I could write a hundred novels and never come close to expressing our highest gratitude to Mike and Bryan and all their workers.  If you need the best of the extreme best, Cutter Construction is who you need to call.  The compliments I have for them outnumber the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the ground.  We appreciate them, respect them, admire them, and to us they have become like family.  They definitely know what they are doing, and they do it way above and beyond.  We have 0 complaints about them.  They answer all questions thoroughly, with absolute understanding and kindness.  They take on each project as if it were their very own.  All their employees work together as one.  Perfect clockwork.  The city is very familiar with them, so if an inspector needs to come out, they won't be there long, as even the city knows that Cutter Construction is absolute top notch.  And they are.  We are definitely not done with them either.  In the spring or summer we may be needing our driveway done.  Cutter is the only one we will call from now on.  They clean up after each job.  If there are ever questions Mike is a call or text or email away.  He responds very quickly.  The patience he has, the level of understanding he has, the immeasurable kindness that Cutter Construction has shown to us is something we'll remember always.  They truly are near and dear to our hearts.  I cannot stress how our appreciation and admiration of and for them honestly is beyond immeasurable. We are very thankful we chose Cutter Construction to rebuild our chimney after it was severely damaged in the Dorecho Storm  in Aug/20. Bryan walks us through the entire process from beginning to end and the work crew(Jason, Doug, and Alan) was very courteous, polite, efficient, and professional. The chimney is beautiful and the workmanship is outstanding. We are more than pleased with the job that was done and would highly recommend Cutter Construction, they are well worth the money! Mike Cutter was great to work with. They built us a 500 foot composite deck to go around our above ground pool. He communicated clearly with me with any delays and changes. His crew of men were also wonderful. Their attention to detail was amazing. I would hire them again in a heart beat!

Cutter Construction rebuilt our chimney after the August derecho knocked it down.  They had to order and match brick that is 90+ years old.  The job was done quickly and the chimney looks amazing.  I would definitely recommend Cutter Construction to anyone looking for a contractor!

Cutter Construction did a fantastic job on our driveway. They did exactly what we asked. They also got my washer and dryer off the ground. The Cutter Crew showed up early and worked quietly and professionally to remove the old deck and install the new one, even working in the rain. The installation completed early and Mike Cutter kept us informed about progress prior, during and at the completion of the installation. A great group of guys who were professional and courteous.

Mike and his crew took off our old deck and installed a new one.  They worked carefully and were sensitive to our needs and questions. Mike patiently worked with us and made plans and prices for a couple of  different decks, until we were satisfied with the style and price.  Should we need any reconstruction work in the future, Mike will be the first on our list to call.

We enjoyed working with Mike Cutter and their team the Cutter Construction LLC of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They added a master bed room, family room, and handicapped bathroom, with a full basement. The kitchen, dining room, original bath room was painted, flooring and counter tops replaced. A patio was incorporated into the roof design of the house and a garage/shed was added in the rear yard. Heating/cooling system was upgraded to match the home. They landscaped the yard and around the house and shed. All of the windows in the original house as well as the addition were replaced and the house was vinyl sided. Through all of this work we had nothing but the best people here working on our project. They were very concerned, accommodating, easy to work with, having suggestions of how things could be improved. Mike and the team of contractors have made this project a five star event for us, and the nice part they backup their work after the job is completed.

Cutter Construction did an excellent job on our new driveway and expansion. From the detailed estimate to the great crew whose commitment to detail, quality, and respect for us and our property. Everything was amazing.
