  My mother had her driveway seal coated. A day or two later called me as her neighbor slipped, and she was worried as well being she is elderly and has fallen. The wrong product was used for steep driveway, and the quality was just not there (once I was able to visit). So much so that neighbors actually called to complain for her. The price was fair/high, not a budget, and even the owner upon coming back said "I should have never done it, that he was sorry". You can not immediately reseal so she decided to get it capped/repaved, and he gave an estimate. Upon calling two other places, she was actually offered a lower rate. Apologies are good, and I work in landscaping contracting, but he was not offering a proper fix (he put down some sand) or a discount when she is asking for a more expensive job. Mistakes happen, sometimes you have to eat crow and replace, fix or refund which is what they should have done.
