We have had Cook's do several projects on our home. We have always been very happy with the professionalism and quality of work. The attention to detail is impressive. The projects are handled professionally (thanks Mike!) and the crews are careful and bring my vision to life (thanks Todd and Paul). The owner (Jason) is great to work with and is conscientious about his business. Would highly recommend.

**EDIT 7/28/2021** After a healthy conversation with the owner, I am happy to say that I have changed my opinion and rating of Cook's. Though I do not care for the Project Manager Mike and the way he spoke to me Paul and Jack came to handle the issue I was having. I followed up with the owner and told him of the positive experience with the guys sent over. Thank you to Paul and Jack, and the owner for taking my matter serious and not giving up until the situation was resolved. I live in complex where Cooks did some window replacement. I've been waiting 3 weeks for my window to be fixed. I was due to have it repaired today at 10am, its now after 12:30 with no follow up or update. Should I ever have a home that needs work. I will not be calling Cooks. Poor communication and lack of follow through.

      Response from the owner

Ms. Secor, I just spoke to our project manager about this and he said that he was instructed by the maintenance manager to schedule everything through him. He has called more than once and has not heard back. We have been trying to make arrangements to repair it for some time. The communication problem is not with us.

Initial estimate was $20,835, paid 2% to get contract drawn up... $32,175. $11,340 more than initial estimate(I did go from 12x12 to 12x15, but also cancelled $861 in interior work). Salesman claimed he "missed" several important things, including that a mini split, for a 12x15 room, would cost $5,000... Maybe it was made of gold. Owner wasn't interested in refunding the 2% because the contract process is "time consuming". Edit to reply: the "several things" I added were what.. an exterior light by the slider(fixture I was supplying) and 3ft more on the sides... Still missing where a mini split to supplement heating/cooling a 12x15ft room cost $5,000 dollars, or was that a subcontractor issue too? You guys should get your stories straight anyway, since his reply to me said... "The large increase is mostly my fault." Your salesman also tried telling me 5k in windows and doors would result in 15k higher resale value... Considering the front windows are already replacement and the front door is solid oak... I doubt it. It's also funny to me he acted blown away that my siding quote from another company was under $10k(asked if it was pre-covid and all) and then comes through with a $9225 offer in the proposal while everything else skyrockets. Y'all have a funny way of doing business...

      Response from the owner

You added several things to your project, including square footage, between the initial estimate and the final contract. Our salesman explained to you that your existing furnace would work, it would just work harder with the added volume. He suggested the addition of a mini-split, to which you agreed. When the scope of work changes, the cost also changes. Also, the cost of materials has been very unstable and because everyone is so very busy, subcontractors that perform operations like excavating and concrete are charging more than usual. The estimate was free, but we charge 2% for the final workup because, yes, it is time consuming. If you had us do any work, we would have taken 2% off to offset the cost of the final quote.
