  Dont waste your time if you are looking to remodel. They claim to do additions but don't seem confident when explaining what you want at first meet. I couldn't even get an estimate for the job. The owner even recommended finding a local contractor after calling a week later because he never got back with me. I simply ask for a ballpark figure for the job and Dwight told me he would get one together but never got back with me at all. He seemed hesitant about the 35 min commute to my home for A $35k + job and claimed he wouldn't profit from it , but how can you know your profit if you never set a price for the job. I never had a set budget for the work we talked about for the reason I dont budget an addition. Its hard for a homeowner to give a budget on an addition and full kitchen/dining remodel. I wanted a job and had no price range for it so thats his loss. He hinted it took several hours to get a good figure and I felt as if he didn't think I was serious about his time to get me a figure. Dwight was more concerned about how I located his services online than the potential job. I dont recommend this company for lack of communication, failing to listen to your needs and not taking the time to work with a potential customer. I also gave my review on their facebook page with a 1 star rating and it was removed shortly after. You can't hide the truth. *******************************In response to your comment Dwight, you never told me a quote for almost double. You mentioned when you seen it that it would probaly be close to $40k. I mentioned I had a low $30k quote from another contractor that apparently didn't know how to add material cost. I simply ask before you left to get me a better figure as I understood the low figure from the first guy wasn't even close. Just for future reference when someone ask for a figure you should try to work better with the customer. I left my comments on several sights because I have that right, not because I wanted to harm your relationship with clients. You may have satisfied several customers, but you didn't satisfy me. Just signed a contract for $60k plus that could have been yours if you would have gave me a number.

  David, it is clear that Carolina Home Design is not a good fit for your project. However, I will address your concerns. In our initial meeting, you said you were “pretty firm” at a budget of $30-35,000 just as you said in your review. I did in fact verbally give you a ballpark figure, but it was almost twice that budget amount. Another local contractor, whom you had also called, accompanied me for that initial consultation and agreed that the budget amount would not be sufficient for the job which included a kitchen remodel and a room addition that included a laundry room. Travel time to the job is always a factor, but no matter the job’s location, it still would not have been possible within the budget you provided. In order to get a detailed job quote, there must be a complete plan and detailed job specifications so that materials and time can be accurately figured. Since you did not have a complete plan, it would have taken several hours to do a detailed design, plan, and quote for the job. I felt it was not in either of our best interest to spend those hours/dollars doing a plan and quote for a job that we already knew did not fit into the budget constraints you provided. I did offer, however, to make some calls to other contractors to see if anyone was willing to take on the job at that budget, which I had done but with no luck. An initial consultation with any potential client provides the opportunity for both parties to determine if the job is a good fit in both directions – this time it was not. We regret your decision to air your grievances on social media and the internet. Your review on facebook was removed because it did not reflect the accurate details of our meeting with you. That review, as well as the other reviews you have posted on various sites, was clearly intended to harm our reputation and current client relationships. We have many satisfied clients from Florence and the surrounding counties and continually strive to provide quality products and workmanship at a fair price.

  The ABSOLUTE BEST! Dwight and his team are amazing! I highly recommend if looking to build or remodel. They explained every detail and the time frame was exact! Thank you for the awesome kitchen remodel!

  Extremely disappointed, after much discussion and several visits to this business and our home, all communication stopped and a quote was never given. Phone calls were answered with "give me a few days and I will call you with numbers" which never happened. Totally unreliable, and I would NOT recommend this contractor.
