We had a deck and cover built by Bluegrass over the summer. If I had to give a star rating on the end product alone, it would probably be a 3 1/2. But what was originally explained as a 4 or 5 day project (Day 1: demo, Day2: posts and frame day3: Decking: Day 4 cover, give or take a few days....) Turned in to over 5 weeks before it was completed. Finish quality was a big issue especially on the hand rails, which I had to ask to be taken off and redone twice. (look at the pictures) The crew used a nail gun to attach everything. I should have asked ahead of time, but I assumed decking screws would be used, as nails work out over time. In addition, the gun drove some nails too deep, which can cause some other issues down the road, and I also had to go around picking plastic splinters off of the nail heads from the nail strips.. The first time the hand rails were put on, they used a strip of 1x6 decking, which would be fine, but the way the railing was done, there was no support under them, so in some places, a 1 inch thick board was suspended 9 feet with no support. They fixed most of the rail part after I had to leave work and come home to supervise because the first time they redid it, the craftsmanship was awful and looked like these guys had never built a deck before. I feel like I finally got it to "good enough", which really isn't how I should feel after spending over 20 thousand dollars.. I suspect the biggest issue was that a 3rd party crew was outsourced for my job and they were the "B crew". Joe was quick to respond and try to work with me, but in the end, I was just ready to get the experience over with.

Thanks for your constructive criticism Jason. I agree that the rails were not initially up to our standards, either, and happy that we were able to replace at your request. As for the nails, we do use a galvanized ring shank nail versus a decking screw which will hold in place just fine. This is actually quite a bit more expensive approach than the standard nails many deck installers utilize. If you were told 3-5 days on a project this size, then I apologize as that would not be feasible with all the moving parts and trades involved. The deck and cover were done in approximately 3 weeks with only a box mount and wiring left afterwards. There was confusion on these items since this was not reflected in the contract, but we honored that particular work regardless of it being included since you said it had been mentioned to you. We are here to help with any other issues you may have as we warranty our work and stand by the results. Let me know if we can help and thanks again for your business!

We had a screened in porch built. All of the staff was professional, Ronnie, Brian, and the rest! They were on time, as they told us the work would be completed before Christmas….it was finished before Halloween and we called them in the beginning of September. The price was very reasonable. They did great work! We even called them about a question we had on the gutter and they were back out within the next day or two. We would use again and highly recommend!! My husband said he would probably never use the porch (he has) and he is just as happy and pleased with it as I am!

We appreciate the opportunity to have done this scope for you!! I'm glad we could deliver on the timing even with all the supply chain issues involved. Enjoy your room and let us know if we can help your family or friends the same way!

Bluegrass Sunrooms replaced our 20+ year old wooden deck with Trex Product. This work included quite a bit of structural work and upgrades to bring the deck to current code. Even with supply problems due to Covid, work was completed ahead of schedule. Pricing was very reasonable. Crew was very good, cleaned up at end of each day. Would recommend and will definitely use them for future projects. Ronnie was a great salesman to work with, he recommended picture framing the deck and it turned out great!.
