We've been working with Black Roofing for more than a decade and are continually impressed by their professionalism and consistency. Sam and his team were out to our new office in 2016 to fix two significant leaks, and we haven't had an issues since. It's amazing the range of work Black Roofing does from the many iconic roofs at CU and in Denver, to the simple shingle roof on our one-story building in Erie.

They do good quality work.  But, they simply charge way more than other people just because  they are based in Boulder and know Boulder people have money.

Black Roofing provides high quality work that can withstand our winds.   Quality work. Done right, the first time!  On our first house we used another company (who was cheaper) and we were calling after every storm for warranty work.  We switched to Black and have had no issues.

We had Black Roofing come and do spray foam insulation on the inside of the exterior walls of our garage.  Not only did the guys show up on time and complete the work in a timely manner; they covered all of our stuff in the garage and did a full cleanup when they left.  These guys did an amazing job and made it so our garage wouldn't leak cold air into the rooms above and next to it!  We couldn't be happier with the service and product that we received from Black Roofing!

Awesome experience from beginning to end.  Anymore we are hard pressed to find such great customer service from any company.  From the beginning the communication and promptness was top notch.  The wind storm in April tore the roof up.  Once I contacted them to get a bid, they were quick to come to the house, assess the damage and get us a proposal for replacement.  Once we hired them, they were there the same day to patch the damage until they could get the permit from the city and the roofing materials delivered.  No tarps to get us through, straight up repair, was told that they would sleep better at night knowing that we wouldn't have any problems.  REALLY??  Who does that??  Black Roofing does!!  From there we were always informed on the status on the work to be done.  Within 1 month of the damage, our roof was complete, being delayed one week due to weather.  They also coordinated with Longspeak Seamless Gutters and Exteriors to have the gutters replaced as well.  Due to some recent hail storms, we contacted them to come by when they had the chance to check the roof for any possible damage.  Left a message in the morning and by lunchtime, they contacted us to let us know that they went by and checked the roof and all was good.  We are telling you, they are THE BEST!!  We will spread the word far and wide!!  Thank you Dan, Darrell, Todd, Erin, John and crew!!  You guys ROCK!!

Black roofing was very professional and prompt. The process was easy from start to finish. The roofing crew was efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy with the results thus far!

Well, it's been almost a year now. The whole transaction was trouble-free from start to finish. I complicated things a bit by adding some light tubes during the total roof replacement, which impacted the timing of the crew a little bit and still, they got the job done in a day and half. I could not have been more impressed. Larry is a straight shooter and delivered on everything he promised. In this case, they also came in with the best bid. Excellent value all around. Thank you Larry and your crew.

Worked at this place for 8 mnths. Worked hard and showed up on time everyday until i hurt my leg on my lunchbreak not on their time. The safety manager told me it was up to me if i wanted to go to a dr about it and the injury was a sore muscle but nothing serious so i figured ill go home and not make a workmans comp claim. I missed 2 work days and came back to work rdy to go and was told i needed to be approved by a dr to work again and was forced to make a claim through workmans comp. The dr visits kept me out of work for 2 wks but i could be put on light duty. Since i didnt feel right sitting and getting paid i took my vacation for one wk and the other wk i cleaned gor them and washed their vehicles. The physical therapy they made me do only hurt my leg worse and when i was done with the 2 wks light duty, they fired me.. No notice or anything... Now me and my 2 kids are having a horrible time trying to get by thanks to them. They ruined my christmas and new yr and now i cant pay my bills.. They dont care about ppl and i feel like they put me through excrutiating pain for the sake of covering their own ass... I thought they had my back but they didnt. Btw looked at these 5 star reviews their getting and their from employees trying to make this place look good...

Black Roofing takes the safety and health of its employees very seriously.  Black Roofing encourages its employees to seek medical attention when needed, and it has no say in how an employee’s medical care is handled.  That care is between the employee and their doctor.   Black Roofing does not terminate employees just because they are injured on the job, or just because they need accommodations.  In fact, we have many employees who have been injured on the job, or who have received accommodations, that continued to work for a long time thereafter and many who still work here.  However, employees may be required to take a drug or alcohol test in certain circumstances.  Because of the safety sensitive issues we face in our roofing business, Black Roofing has a strict drug and alcohol use policy.  We strive to apply our policies uniformly and consistently in an effort to treat everyone fairly.  Refusal of a required drug test is grounds for termination.  Black Roofing does not and cannot tolerate or take a risks of having employees who are potentially under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Dropped the ball!

I called up with an issue with my roof and they said we are booked up this week. "I can have some one out 8am on Monday" (at this stage 7 days away). So I waited all week, and then 8:20am no one showed up. I called up to see what we going on. "Gee Wiz I didnt write down an appointment for you, and we are all booked up this week". When I asked about my appointment, and the fact I had already been waiting a week, the comment back was "well if you are in that much of a hurry, may be you should try somewhere else".

They do very high quality work, but i gave 3 stars bc they are just ridiculously expensive.  They tailor to the rich Boulder crowd and not to the rest of the population who lives in a normal economic reality.

We would like to say thank you for recognizing our high quality or work.  We do our best to make sure that every project we complete is to a high standard.  Although Black Roofing is located in Boulder we have clients that stretch as far east as Brighton and as far north as Fort Collins. Black Roofing warranties all of its work and we have been in business for more than 42 years, guaranteeing that our customers will always be able to reach us if there are any problems or questions that come up after the work is completed.  Black Roofing takes pride in making sure all of its employees are well taken care of with benefit packages that exceed industry standards. Black Roofing takes the safety of our employees very seriously and will not cut corners to reduce cost.  Because of the benefits the company offers and maintaining a high standard of safety our prices may be higher than some competitors.  We do not see these choices as catering to the rich, but ensuring our employees are well taken care and have a safe working environment at all times.
