I truly feel I have never been treated so poorly by a company that professes to put customers first. On June 28th, we signed a contract after the estimator took a look at our lanai roof. He gave no indication it would be a problem to lay a new roof over the aluminum. Before departing he told us it would be 4 to 6 weeks before the install. In August I called asking when they would get to my roof. I was told they would call. I waited and then called again. I was given September 16th as the date, the crew showed up, then abruptly left without doing any work. No one on the crew had the decency to knock on the door and say why. I called that day and was told the supervisor would call to explain. No call was received. So I called again and was told they needed to brace the underside of the roof, and by the way that would cost an additional $600. After waiting so long, I agreed to the increase reluctantly. The estimator and I had discussed using scaffolding and planks so the crew did not have to walk on the roof. Well, the estimator was dead wrong about that. Another few calls finally got us on the schedule again. The second time the crew arrived on October 11, unloaded the truck, then disappeared with the material. Once again no one bothered to tell us why. I called and was told the supervisor would call me to explain. It took my call to finally reach the supervisor who told me they could not do my roof. He explained there was no way to attach the roofing material to the existing roof. So after waiting almost fifteen weeks, we will not have a roof. My questions are why the estimator was not more knowledgeable, and why it took multiple calls by me to get them to schedule and respond to the crews departures. If you want a responsive company who does work in a reasonable amount of time, stay away from Bay to Bay Roofing.
Response from the owner
I just want to start by saying we are very sympathetic for the way things worked out with your roofing project. There has been an unprecedented shortage of materials for the last 2 years, especially when it comes to flat roofing material, so getting any low sloped roofs on the schedule has been taking a bit longer than normal. Unfortunately the condition of your aluminum roof has deteriorated to where a TPO recover just is not possible. The foam on the roof, as well as what appear to be attempted repairs at the tie in areas make it to where there is no way to attach the material. I am sorry it took so long to come to this determination. Thank you, and we hope you can find an aluminum contractor to replace that roof.

Fair price and good work so far. Should be a four star but their area supervisor needs to be retrained or reassigned. It took a month to fix this problem that happened under his supervision. I'd still recommend them for the value. After encountering problems with communication, I spoke with Rich at Bay to Bay and he got my issue resolved. Bay to Bay gives a fair price and they were fast and it looks like they did a great job for the most part, but I had a headache for a month dealing because of their area supervisor, Mark, who was indifferent to my problems or the workmanshp. He was totally fine with leaving a focal point section of our roof looking like an amateur did it. Otherwise, this would have been a four star reviewed.

Thank you Anthony for the professionalism. Communication was great with you, your office staff and roofers. It was a lovely experience start to finish.
