  Terrible business. These guys were hired after last year's storms by our home's previous owners to put on a new roof and stain the deck. We bought the house a month after the work was done. The first big rain storm showed we had leaks in the roof. They came out to fix it and the next rainstorm showed that the fix didn't work. After a second attempt the roof stopped leaking (we think). They never did come back as promised to repaint the spot on the ceiling where the leak occurred. Six months later the deck they stained started to show signs of peeling. We called and they never got back to us. There were actually leaves and debris under the stain as they failed to properly clean the deck. The third attempt to contact finally yielded a response. One of their contractors said he'd make it out to look at the deck. Never heard from him. Called back and was promised that the owner would take care of it. That was two weeks ago. These guys do shoddy work and won't back anything up. Watch out for them! Update: After looking at leftover cans of the stain, I found that they used a stain that is "not recommended for areas with traffic". The stain was of cheap quality and not meant for use on a deck surface. These guys ripped us off.

  Last April when storms hit St. Charles, I decided to get my roof checked out by Artown Roofing. Ron Bailey was exceptional in his knowledge and professionalism. He explained exactly where the damage was and what to expect for the whole process of replacing it. My insurance company was very stingy and excessively bureaucratic. They tried to stonewall several times and tried to minimized every chance they could. Ron and Artown Roofing kept calling my insurance company and submitting the appropriate documentation. Finally Ron suggested that the insurance company send out another adjuster so that he could me them at my house and go over the damage together The adjuster arrived early, just like Ron said they probably would. Fortunately, Ron showed up early as well and pointed out the obvious damage that the first adjuster "missed". He even took pictures to submit with the adjuster. It may have taken several months to keep the insurance company honest, accountable and on task, but the actual roofing job only took one day to complete. My new roof looks fantastic!!! On Friday May 31 a tornado hit the St. Louis area. Though my new roof held up very well, my satellite dish nearly came off the roof. I called Artown again. Ron came back out to the house and took the rest of the dish down and installed a couple of shingles. He knew we were going to have rain the next day, so he came right out. Ron has made me a repeat customer. All my roofing needs will include a call to Artown Roofing from now on.
