  All Star Restoration dried our home from a water leak under our kitchen. They brought in large dryers and machines to pull water out because we had hardwood floors. The machines were in our home for 21 days from beginning to end, and our electric bill shot up to over $700 for just one part of a month. They insisted that we had to have special drying since it was hardwood, and the average temperature in our home was over 85 degrees every day in August due to their machines. It turns out that wasn't necessary at all, and they covered their tail by only reporting the machines being in the house 8 days to the insurance company. Colby told us that the insurance usually only covers 7 days so that is how they wrote the estimate charging our insurance company over $10,000 in total. They were nice enough, but they are not honest or trustworthy. They lied to us and to our insurance company. We have paid them for their services, but we will never use them or recommend them to anyone. Call someone else!

  This is an unfortunate issue that can happen on any claim. I have addressed these issues with the customer via email personally. Most of the facts have been stated with the exception of the main one. We communicated with the customers insurance company asking for their approval to tear out the hardwood floors on day 5 or to continue drying. We never received a reply or return phone call from the insurance company on this matter. To complicate the matter more, the customers had to deal with this equipment in their kitchen/home while trying to maintain their normal day-to-day activities, not an easy task, which resulted in our equipment being turned off and on to accommodate their needs. Anyone in this business understands what it means when your equipment gets turned off...........longer drying times. In the end, we as a company lost out on 14 days of equipment rental, and the customer had to endure the equipment for a longer time frame. My recommendation to all reading this is to consider all of your options, and maybe even consider living off-site, while the work is being done. Most insurance companies will cover this, but they usually require that you incur all of the expenses up front and file for reimbursement afterward. We as a company are sensitive to customer service issues and have offered to resolve this matter with our customer. Colby English, Project Manager/All Star Restoration LLC.
