I contracted these guys to replace a deck for my house. We had numerous problems with them. The guy who came to build the deck was constantly asking for money to pay the job off. He was constantly telling us that Kevin (The owner) wanted his money. This was before it was complete. He was constantly complaining about one thing or another. We'd call Kevin who claimed he knew nothing of it and that his employee's don't do this sort of thing. It happened on numerous occasions. I talked to Kevin about this on a number of occasions. He visited our house several times to discuss our concerns and the problems we were having with them. Once the job was complete, or so we thought I inspected the construction. The deck had and still does have, numerous places on it where screw didn't get secured to the frame. It also has places where the screws and nails outright missed the frame or only made it halfway or weren't aligned properly, etc... We had a building permit through Roy city. These guys made it sound like all the inconveniences were my fault because I wanted a permit. It did finally pass inspection though. During the winter months part of the Trex on the deck started to warp out. We called the owner several times. He told us someone would be out to look at and fix it. The owner even came out once, to looked at it. He told us he knew what to do to fix and one of his employees would be by to take care of it. A week went by, we called to ask what was going on. He said someone would be out. Two weeks went by and no one came by. Granted there were some bad weather days, but still not even a phone call to let us know he hadn't forgot about us. I tried to access their web site for an email address which at the time was no longer available. It may still be down today, I haven't checked. I thought if I could email him it would avoid a phone confrontation. We finally waited for a warm weather day and my wife called him. He wanted my wife to call his employee to see if he could come out to fix it. He was driving and didn't want to do it. His employee had taken a second job so he was having a hard time getting him to my house. I wasn't happy that we were asked to do the owners job. Why should I call one of his employees who may be on the job at the time? Why isn't he calling his employee at his convenience and when it was safe to do so. I called Kevin back to ask him why he isn't calling his own employee's. He exploded. He dropped many F-Bombs and other swear words at me. He told me he was driving and couldn't make the call. I told him the phone call to his employee could be done at his convenience and when it could be done safely. I wont lie I did return the barrage of fowl language. But for him to start in on me like that was classless. Plus it didn't seem to bother him to be driving with cell phone rage. After many minutes of name calling and swearing on both ends I asked him if he was going to fix it or not. He advised me that someone would be in touch with me to fix it and he never wanted to hear from me again. Feelings are definitely mutual there. Several days went by. If no one showed up I wasn't going to call back. It wasn't worth the effort. I would just find a way to fix it myself. Someone did finally show up at the house, unannounced. They went into the backyard and just started pounding the deck and then left. We thought someone was beating on our house. Some warning, phone call or something would have been nice. They secured the warping with a bolt. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they came out and I am glad it was fixed. I am not happy with the company. I waited several weeks to do this review. I didn't want to do anything in anger. I can never give a good review or recommendation for these guys, ever. They did nothing to earn my respect, a recommendation, or good review.
