  Wanted to love AB Martin and I did until I placed a $4,300 lumber order. It was delivered with a lot of scrap, unusable lumber. I tried to return 28 of the worst pieces for replacement. The rude person I spoke with said “you can’t return it, we can’t pick through it for you and we can’t return it” Sorry, your customers shouldn’t have to accept your scrap. Eventually, somebody approved the return and the rude guy told me “next time go to Home Depot. We don’t need your business.” I went to AB Martin to support a local lumber yard and paid a premium thinking I’d get better quality. Thanks to this one person I’ll never step foot in that store again. Pictures don’t fully convey how bad this split, checked, gouged AND moldy lumber really was. 1/2 star is more appropriate.

  Hi Steven, Sorry for only seeing and responding to this review now. We apologize for the incident. With the trainloads of lumber that move through here each week, despite our best efforts there is bound to be bad apples, but because of concerns about customer safety with all the forklift traffic, we do not allow customers to pick through lumber piles. With this case, our salesperson should have accepted the returns and offered replacements, and I am sorry for your experience.

  In past had nothing but great to say about them. Now they are a dirty company to their customers especially the little man. My husband and i had bought and PAID for and an order, was picking it up 3 days later. Get a phone call day before pickup and was told not enough to fill my order. They filled a bigger order that came in after my order. This tells be they have know respect for the little man or non contractor customers. All they care about is money. However I the only star they deserve goes to the salesman that was honest to me.

  Hi Sheri, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I can assure you that it had nothing to do with the money, but was likely related to a supply chain issue where a load that was scheduled to come in was delayed resulting in over-committed inventory and not enough stock when the yard started pulling your order. Our sales team tries to stay on top of that, but sometimes we make wrong assumptions and sometimes delays happen that are outside of our control. I know that doesn't fix your situation, and we apologize. Please know that we are doing the best we can to navigate these challenging times.

  Always a great place for building supplies. At the farm my family owns we've built many building with materials from AB Martin. Great staff and friendly service everytime we're there.
