We had a house fire in 2000. Restoration Contractors was recommended to us by our State Farm adjuster. Their crew robbed us blind. So many things that were not affected by the fire never returned to us. Specifically my husbands tools. They were in the home while the crew was there removing things. They were never returned. They stole countless items. After speaking with reps from State Farm and Restoration Contractors about this problem, it was suggested that we file a theft report and file with the insurance for replacement. So, we did both and was immediately cancelled with State Farm. And because we were cancelled for having to file two reports within a year, not only did we lose our items and our insurance, we were unable to acquire home insurance again for over a year. The two men who did the wallpaper stole private items from our home as well. Initially we were placed in a hotel but then moved to a duplex that the company owned. It was infested with fleas. Infested beyond anything I could even imagine. My children were covered in flea bites before within the first 24 hours. We were shipped back to a hotel while they exterminated and then shipped back to the duplex once again, only to find it still had fleas. After we returned home, a couple of months later, I turned the gas heat on and black soot and what looked like smoke came pouring out of the vents. It was a Sunday morning and we were getting ready for Church. I had to call a HAVAC guy in on a Sunday. After some investigation, he found that the furnace/AC had not been cleaned out as was stated by Restoration Contractors. The vent system was also full of black soot and crud from the fire where they had not been cleaned, as stated by Restoration Contractors. On a side note, HAVAC guy charged me nothing that day because of the situation. When their crew was emptying our home, they neglected to clean out our brand new refrigerator. About two weeks later, after they started repairs on our home, we stopped in to check on the progress only to find that the refrigerator was full of spoiled food and stunk to high heaven. When I called Restoration Contractors and spoke with a co-owner, I was told that we would have to clean it out. Luckily, the insurance company helped out in this regard and eventually Restoration Contractors were made to do so. I could go on and on and on about this company...and I know it was 18 years ago, but unless there have been major and huge improvement with them, they are not worth it. I would highly suggest that you find another company that won't give you a headache to deal with and steal from you.

Had Service Master of Marion do some work for a pending sale of my property at behest of the buyer and his choice on this company. Happened to be day of closing when Service Master could come and do the required work which would only take a day and buyer was okay with this. While working in the crawlspace one of their employees came out and started making comments about the residence I'm trying to sell which were untrue and frankly above this "gentleman's" knowledge level. Just as point we are standing underneath my oak tree and acorns are starting to fall and he proceeds to tell me that the tree is a silver maple. So back to the point thru his less than knowledgeable comments the buyer's proceed to back out stating the comments made by the Service Master employee. I then made contact with the manager of the company and the only reply I received was "I'm sorry and will talk to this individual who she immediately knew of whom I spoke. Nice when they have your payment and don't even offer to try and make amends, not what I call a good business practice. Wonder what "Corporate"will make of this??? Unhappy
