  In May 2020, I contracted with Tony Moore of Decks and Moore, LLC (aka Moore Quality Customs) of Kinston NC, who advertises "decks, floors, and more", to replace wooden deck boards with composite decking material. He provided a written contract of $14k for the completion of work, of which I gave him $6700 upfront for ordering of materials. After a month of numerous postponements, excuses and dodging my calls, he finally began to tell me that he would begin "next week", then it became "next week", etc., etc. Telephone calls and text messages to him yielded no results, nor actions. In approximate July 2020,he sent a couple of guys to rip off about two thirds of the current decking boards rendering the deck unusable and never returned. After several months of refusing to complete the job, delivering the so-called ordered materials (which I later found out had not been ordered), and refusing to return my initial deposit, I was forced to see legal civil action through and attorney. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and his continuous avoiding of process service, it has not been heard in civil court as of this date. It is now September 2021, one year and four months later.... hopefully the case will be scheduled for review in October 2021, however, even if a judgement is obtained, recovery of the $6700 is highly unlikely. I have since hired another company to finish the job that Tony/Decks and Moore LLC (aka Moore Quality Customs) never completed and took my money, which included buying materials and installation labor... fortunately, the new company was reputable and did an excellent job in a timely manner. Since this began, I have also found out that the LLC he was operating under (Decks and Moore LLC) had been administratively dissolved by the NC Secretary of State's office, PRIOR, to our contract in May 2020. To make matters worse, I have also found that he has done the same thing to several other persons, including an 80-year old couple!!! Additionally, I have found out that one of his customers has been able to obtain a civil judgement against him, and another has been able to obtain a felony warrant - which I am currently in the process of doing also, and a wholesale building supplier has written off thousands of dollars as bad debt expense. Another individual is alleging that he charged them upfront for repairs that were not needed and after paying upfront deposit, also never completed that job. Based on my experience, and that of others which I have personally spoken with, I highly discourage anyone from considering hiring Tony Moore, Decks and Moore, LLC (aka Moore Quality Customs) for any jobs whatsover. Bad thing about it .... lives in the local community and I know his entire family.... mother, father, aunt, uncle and even grandfather who are fine people... never thought I would be taken advantage of by someone like that!!!!

  Moore Quality Customs put me and my family through hell for 8 months. I’m glad we finally fired them!
