  Joe and his crew came in and fixed our basement where we had water damage (New drywall, new carpet, they even fixed the plumbing that had been the issue !) They handled everything with our insurance company which made the experience very easy on us! They did a great job fixing and painting and laying the new carpet. Joe is very easy to work with, he took the time to explain the process and we would work with them again in the future!

  I would give less than 1 star if I could. We hired Joe Bermudez, the owner of Agape Building and Restoration, LLC, three times. The first two times, the work took too long, but it was adequate and we paid. The third time was a completely different story. We hired Joe again to help us fix the leak in our basement that had caused a flood. Joe quoted $5000 for the job, said he needed $3500 up front, said he would dig a new drainage tile for us and redirect the flow of water from our downspouts. Joe came out to work on the job, was here part of one morning, maybe an hour. In that time he discovered (somehow he never noticed before???) that there was already a drainage tile. He told us the cover was clogged, so he put a new cover on top and left. When I asked if we could get some (or most) of our $3500 deposit back (since he did not do the quoted work at all), he just said the problem was resolved and that's what we hired him to do (no contract terms backed up this claim). He then started bullying me, saying I still owed him $1500 and that he would put a lien on my property if I did not pay. It is worth noting that after this, we still had a leak in our basement, and another company came out (one guy, actually, but he came out ready to work hard and get the job done). He diagnosed the problem immediately (spoiler alert: it wasn't the drain cover), dug a new trench himself by hand (no heavy equipment needed), fixed the problem completely (no leaks since then!), and charged half of what Joe quoted us. I have since heard from other customers of Agape who had similar bad experiences. There is a clear pattern of showing up first and providing a quote before anyone else, promising to get to work right away, but then doing poor quality, slow work (or not doing the work at all, in my case) but then bullying people about the money. As of now there is one review of this company, and it was left by Joe's employee - not a customer. AVOID!
